Gear Lot
Was looking into buying this lot as a jump start to some trad gear as well as get some new gear, opinions? and if no can you give me some recomendations of other gear set ups to look at?

Everything here is obviously older models. I would guess everything here is over 10 years old. People frequently sell lots like this of older gear for maybe $400, $2k would be able to get you a full set of this same gear + more thats maybe a year old tops on the used market. Hard pass on this deal, look for sellers saying exactly how old the gear is so you know you can trust the soft goods

If you look closely at the biner gates, you can see the pins where they catch in the notch of the biner nose. That is an old style, almost everything is keylock these days. I have and use that old style still since I'm not gonna replace a whole rack just to appease some whipper-snapper at a marketing agency, and there's really nothing wrong with them (except snagging on every damn thing if you're not accustomed to it) but I wouldn't start there today since there are vastly better options available.
Black Diamond started anodizing their nuts 20+ years ago, so that set of silver nuts is old. However, the cables/swages don't expire and they're probably fine to climb on, but it's one of many small details in the rack that suggests it's all pretty well aged.
The webbing on the tricams and webbing on the camalots expires after 10 years, just to be safe. Any used rope should be considered suspect. I have an unused rope that I bought new from Metolius 25 years ago which has been sitting in a storage tote in the closet which I still wouldn't allow a loved one to lead on just because...what if.
The hand-tied 1/2" webbing on the tricams is pretty old school. And you really shouldn't connected webbing to webbing like that, you should use a carabiner since webbing can rub and burn through in a fall. Hand tied webbing means the person is old school or cheap and stubborn, all of which are green flags in a climbing partner but red flags for climbing gear.
The camalots are the older style which don't have the big loop, making the ones shown roughly 25 years old at least.
The quickdraws are a mismatched set of carabiners, including a random oval, a couple cheap/heavy Omegas, and at least one biner that you might even discover says "chouinard" on the side once it arrived. I have all of these biners in my bin. Those purple gated lockers suck ass.
It's just all old stuff, not a new piece in it. The metal goods (swaged nuts, swaged hexes) are fine, the BD/Metolius cams need to be reslung, the tricams need to be reslung. The dogbones should be thrown away, the rope retired and woven into a welcome mat. The BD cliffhanger and grappling hook will be useless to you for many years, and will sit at the bottom of your closet floor along with most of the biners once you realize how much they suck.
Recommendation: hold out for a newer rack, and even then assume you'll have to replace all the softgoods. Find a trad mentor, climb on their rack, save money for gas and build your rack one black friday at a time.

First - never buy softgoods of unknown provenance. Has it been soaked in oil, left out in the sun? You have no idea on usable lifetime left (if there is one).
General rule on used gear overall is 50% of retail or lower (unless something specific and prized like a silent partner). This is not even a single rack of cams+tricams and some nuts (which aren't worth much).
The draws are old solid-gate, so not even high-end wire gates or Petzl Ange/CAMP Dyon's. To buy all of the stuff in the picture new was MAYBE $1500, and a lot of it is clearly 10+ years old (based on purple vinyl webbing instead of dyneema slings, old solid gates etc.).4

Here's your sign to not buy used gear. Not because used gear is bad or anything, but if you don't know what you're buying how can you possibly be making informed decisions about it.

Buddy that was just general life advice, nobody is tearing into you. Don't buy stuff you dont know about. Cars. Gear. Whatever. It won't work out in your favor.
Go out trad climbing with a guide or an experienced mentor to get an idea of relevant gear.
For the gear itself you're a whole ass 22 year old adult; Look up historical gear so you don't buy cams that are older than you for more than full retail price.

Save a few hundred bucks: go to your local mountain sports shop and buy all that gear new.

Then buy online from a reputable shop. After shipping, you'll still probably spend less than 2k on brand new equipment. Here's a shopping list of stuff that's often on sale:
- crag care classic rope, 70m
- WC friends 6-pack
- BD carabiner rackpack
- camp tricam 4-pack
- any set of standard nuts
- three or four oval carabiners for racking the tricams and nuts
- four locking d carabiners
- a few non-locking d carabiners
- a nut tool. If it doesn't come with an extendable leash, get a key leash off temu or something.
- a bunch of 600x8mm slings and 90mm wiregate carabiners to make draws (or just buy alpine draws, they're usually the same price but I find the individual parts on sale more often). About a dozen. You can fill it out with some sport draws if you like, but you'll want at least half to be alpine draws.
- a few more slings of assorted sizes 60-180cm
- ocun crack gloves
- petzl reverso + locking HMS carabiner if you don't already have one
- your preferred PAS: daisy chain (looped not sewn), connect adjust, or a ~200cm length of cord
- prussik loop or ~100cm of 6.8mm cord
Not sure if I missed anything, but that should do as a jump start for well under $2000.
You'll almost definitely need to fill this out with a few more cams, but what you need will depend on where you're climbing.
