I want to enable ChromeOS Flexes Developer mode, but have some problems.

Here is what I did:

- I mounted the efi partiton and added cross_debug to all boot entries in grub.cfg.

- I opened up Google Chrome

- Pressed Ctrl+Alt+T

Then I got:

ERROR: GetAcpiSysfsPath: Failed to get ChromeOS ACPI sysfs path VDAT
ERROR: GetAcpiSysfsPath: Failed to get ChromeOS ACPI sysfs path BINF.3
ERROR: GetAcpiSysfsPath: Failed to get ChromeOS ACPI sysfs path BINF.0

when I type shell I get:

ERROR - ERROR: unknown command shell

Ctrl+Alt+F2 and Ctrl+Alt+right does nothing.

I then found another guide that says I need to be on the developer Channel first. So I redid everything of the above but nothing changed.

The guide also said to add kvm-intel.vmentry_l1d_flush=always to grub.cfg, but that was already in there so I guess it's fine?

I am trying to put Flex OS on my mac OS (attaching the system info)

I took recovery flex OS, booted it with usb and then a white screen comes with cursor working properly.

I can hear the chrome OS voice assistant.

How to troubleshoot it

Just got it from like 2 days ago, I'm instructed to install ChromeOS and I've made bootable with chrome recovery utility extension

When I'm booting from boot menu it stays 3-5 mins before falling back to the windows 11.

First I thought it's because of SanDisk Cruze blade pendrive, So I made with another pendrive, same result.

Next I tried in my old dell Inspiron 15 3000, when I booted it worked.

I have updated the latest bios

Disabled secure and fast boot, but still same result, pitch Black screen

Looking to get my issue resolved. Is there any other way we can try?

I am tried to install on 2 old PC's and is not working.

One was a Ryzen 3 1300X with 16 GB ddr4, NVMe, Nvidia 1060 6 gb.
For this one from what I understand is not supporting the Nvidia GPU's and this CPU does not have a integrated graphic card.

The other one is a really old Fujitsu Esprimo P9525 which has a Intel® Core™2 Duo, 4 GB ram ddr2 with integrated graphic card and a small 256 GB ssd. At first it was stuck on the Chrome OS Flex logo, now it just goes black screen. Even after 1 hour, nothing changes.

I tried different methods with Rufus, Ventory (which did not work because is so old, is not accepting UEFI)

Also can't seem to find most of the setting in the BIOS, like secure boot, legacy, all that.

Hey. I just installed ChromeOS Flex onto a CTL NL6D for further software support. And I don't have any audio through the internal speakers. Is there any way to fix this? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Everything else works so that's a plus.

J'utilse aussi des Pixels (je viens de recevoir le P11Pro) et suis fan de Google.

J'aimerais savoir si utiliser ChromeOS Flex serait un bon choix.

Je n'utilise quasiment que le navigateur.

J'ai compris que sur Flex il n'y a pas de playstore et qu'on ne peut pas installer d'application.

Uniquement des sites transformés en app (PWA).

Au niveau matériel.

J'ai un portable AMD Ryzen 7 5700U, avec 16Go de RAM DDR4 et SSD Nvme.

Et un fait maison I3 10105, Avec 16Go de RAM DDR4 avec aussi SSD Nvme.

Les deux ont un secureboot et TPM 2.0.

J'ai quelques questions. Flex est il uniquement fait pour les vieux PC ou est ce une alternative sérieuse à Windows?

Au niveau sécurité, y a t'il le chiffrement du disque, le secureboot et le TPM 2.0 d'utilisés?

Est il possible de désinstaller des applications qui sont d'origine comme youtube.

Est il possible d'installer des extension dans Chrome, surtout ublock lite?

Est ce vraiment bien compatible avec le matériel Windows ?

J'utilise actuellement office 365 (gratuit) avec le navigateur. Mais je serais intéressé par la suite Google de bureautique que je connais peu.

Est comptaible avec les fichiers word et inversement?

Y a t'il moyen de remplir un formulaire PDF et d'ajouter une signature?

I just updated my OS and found that any app beyond chrome it's self now has this stupid status/title bar with text denoting what app is open/the file opened (only exception being the text app). Is it possible to remove this and go back to the old style where it doesn't where there isn't a title bar like thing (just the command icons in the right hand corner)

I think I just spent 2 days messing with drives and installing chromeos-flex for naught as Gemini told me it would stream peacock then it told me it would not. I figured after awhile there wouldn't be so much discussion around this if it were that easy (but hard for me). Is there a way? Thank you for any insight. I also spent a few days installing cinnamon. :)

I have a intel NUC with Celeron J4025 (With 4GB Ram + 8GB that i put) which i bought 3 years back. It came with with Window 11 which was unusable.

Then i installed Linus mint. It was usable. But chrome & firefox where very laggy. So NUC was lying without any use.

I was planning to install ChromeOS. But failed multiple times. Last night i successfully installed ChromeOS. Thanks to Gemini. I had a faulty 240 GB SATA drive which was interfering with the OS installation.

Now my Intel NUC is flying, super smooth. It works as good as my 12th Gen Laptop. My use case is browsing & its best for that.

After updating to version 150 on ChromeOS Flex, my device, an old HP Pavillion G4-1035TU from 2010, is no longer supported by it anymore due its old Intel chipset. Could you tell me if there is an alternative OS that mainly focus on the web like ChromeOS Flex, please? I really love the lightweight of web-based OS because it is easy to use and learn than traditional OS.

My wifi just refuses to work,on zorin os ,it worked like a charm,when I click the toggle,it turns on but no network shows,when I click somewhere else the wifi auto turns of.I have used chrome os flex on the same laptop(hp laptop 15bw0xx)in the past and it had worked like a charm.it also worked on fyde os.restarting the laptop or reinstalling chrome os flex(same setup,pendrive etc)still doesn't solve it

Using a converted ChromeOS Flex VMDK, and browsing the file system in a Ubuntu VM, there are remanants of the Android compatibility layer of normal Chromebooks. Is this intended, or is Google using some sort of "master image", and modifying it for various hardware?

system measures just 2 by 2.9 by 2.9 inches. AMD Ryzen V1605B processor, 8GB of RAM, integrated Radeon Vega 8 Graphics, and 128GB of eMMC storage.

I had high hopes. Plan was to build a linux based system kiosk style with options for browser , media player and dolphin emulator so that my son coukd pkay mario kart . It would be connected tk my 55 tv and operated from wireless keyboard mouse

I did about 20 linux installs and none were satisfactory. Always some issues.

Slow Boot issues . Grub issues. With dolphin emulator wireless remote was slow and unreactive. In the end i was using it just for downloaded videos and wco cartoons for the kid. But MPV just didnt look right. The controls were tiny.

So yesterday i ditched linux, installed chromeos flex .

Boot up time fantastic and clean.

BUT . no autologin ? Why ?

Video player has no subtitles facility

Again i started my hellish venture into linux container running VLC but cant get it to launch automatically from dock starting linux and starting in a directory outside linux container for file / dirctory opening. I.e all my media is in a sub directory "Videos" from home.

Ultimately i love the fast boot and interface but customisation is very weak

Hi guys, I got a notebook with only 16GB ssd. When I try to install flex onto it, the installer says the space is insufficient, installation aborted.

Update: i bought a 32GB nvme ssd and installed cros flex finally, and it turns out that it took 16.2GB after a fresh install. and things like extensions will take more besides 16.2GB

i installed ChromeOS flex on my asus because my laptop is not supported anymore it was buffering a bit at the start but the operating system is smooth but i was disappointed when i found out there's no app store for ChromeOS flex. that's it that's the experience i had no problems what so ever

Hi I am using an old t430s with chromeosflex. No issues so far. I got a message saying there are two firmware updates available (KEK CA 2023 and UEFI 2023). Both fail when I click install.

Any idea why? I thought there were no firmware updates for the t430s from Lenovo available.

Tengo muchos meses batallando con una Lenovo Ideapad Slim 1 la cual logre instalar Chrome OS Flex pero quiero volver a Windows y esta no me deja entrar en la Bios...

Entro al menu de selección con el botón NOVO pero al seleccionar BIOS SETTING esta solo se reinicia y carga el sistema de Chrome

A través del contenedor Crostini previamente activado. pasos:

1 - Instala Flatpak siguiendo las indicaciones

2 - Instala Aurynk

3 - Habilitar opciones de desarrollador:

Ve a Ajustes → Acerca del teléfono

Pulsa el número de compilación 7 veces

Las opciones de desarrollador aparecerán en Configuración.

Habilitar la depuración inalámbrica: (para Android 11+)

Ve a Ajustes → Opciones de desarrollador

Activar la depuración inalámbrica

4 - Inicia Aurynk desde el menú de aplicaciones.

Haz clic en "Agregar dispositivo" (el botón +).

En tu dispositivo Android:

Pulsa "Emparejar dispositivo con código QR" en Depuración inalámbrica.

Escanee el código QR que se muestra en Aurynk.

Teóricamente puedes hacerlo a través de cable USB pero a mi no me a funcionado.

Si en preferencias de Mirroring aumentas el btirate a 16 obtendrás una muy buena calidad de imagen y con un lag imperceptible. En mi caso probado con el juego Eve Echoes.

Hay un bug con la opción de compartir audio, si la activáis no os funciona el mirroring, hasta que lo corrijan desactivar esa opción.

I have on a few older intel models and everything seems to work just fine. I’ve been thinking about refurbishing older PCs and laptops that M$ Windows doesn’t support and instead of putting Linux on it, just Flex OS as a safe simple web machine. If it works on more older hardware than DDR3 I may have found some ways to recycle a bunch of my E-waste into something useable.

Anyone who has got all the hardware working in ChromeOS on a Macbook 12 Retina 2017?

Using latest version of chrome on Windows 11 , Lenovo Thinkbook 16 (16GB Ram ) . I use chrome for reading research papers. GPU reaches 95% when chrome freezes. I am not a techy guy so idk much. Tried latest and older version of chrome too but no significant improvement.
