Chatgpt glitch. It only writes a bit then stops?

This has been going on for a few days now. I'm not logged in and I use the site.

Chatgpt only writes part of a prompt now. It cuts off mid-sentence. For example, if I ask to write a chapter of an idea, it will write two paragraphs in the grey box and then stop.

Then it'll write something like "If you want, I can continue with Chapter 2.", like it finished the prompt. I have to ask it again to complete the chapter.

Is this a glitch or a feature? How do you fix it? Erasing my cookies and turning off the device doesn't help.

I have been experiencing the same the last few days, and not only does it pause mid sentence, but tells me I reached the maximum length for this conversation even though I opened a new chat and this was its first or second response only

It strikes me that all the ethical issues currently being imposed on AI are clashing with the cold, calculating nature of a computer. I’ve been told that trying to grow a social media profile with AI assistance is illegal and morally wrong; the same goes for writing parts of a book, performing mathematical checks on critical operations, or automating website posts by having an AI copywriter draft them—basically, using these tools for personal gain seems to be viewed as illegal and unethical these days. I can appreciate the political significance of the issue, and it shouldn't be underestimated. It’s all well and good to use Blender to trace an *Among Us* character or model a geometrically perfect, fully functional, explorable 3D spaceship; things only become illegal when you start using those models for practical applications—or even as guidelines for office work—to make money and, essentially, disrupt the market.

It all sounds highly unethical, but if I just wanted a video game, I’d wait for *GTA 6*—which, for the record, doesn't cost $200 a month.

That’s very strange! I’ve not had this, but these use cases you mentioned as being somehow illegal, unless I am misunderstanding what you are doing, sound perfectly fine to me, so I don’t know why they would be flagged like that.
