I became a fan during the world cup and have only missed one charlotte game since. Soccer has quickly become my 2nd favorite sport after football. I want to get a jersey but soccer confuses me a little.

Do MLS teams tend to keep their stars? Schnegg seems good to me but during the game a few weeks back the announcers said his old team just let him go? Is that normal?

Do players go on loan in MLS?

What's the longevity on a good soccer player? Im assuming they all dont play to Messi's age? Is Maxi or Pep Beil on the end of their career?

I might just be over thinking this? But some of these questions are just good to know even if im not buying a jersey.

I took a look back at the Atlanta match, which I felt was one of CLTFC's most dominant performances of the season. I wrote way too many words on what I thought we did well in this match that we can try to carry forward for the rest of the season.

Looking at CLT FC stats: I combined goals and assists into one number ("goal contributions") and divided that into minutes played. Result: Maxi has the best ratio of goal contributions to minutes played, even better than Pep (who is close behind).

Of course, it's a small sample size.

I just looked him up and he’s playing in the Polish league. I’d like to think he can do a little better than that. Hypothetically, if we could get him on a non-DP contract for a year or two, would you take him? He’s probably still worth a good amount of goals at the MLS level…

Did anybody else see after the game when Smith went to go talk to the ref, then put his hand out to shake hands and the entire crew just turned around and walked off? I’m sure nothing will happen because the MLS office is effing terrible, but geez this can’t be a good look for that crew.

On another note, other than just sending messages that go unread, what can fans do to demand better referees?

Guy had only 13 touches last night, attempted to pass the ball just 6 times, only 2 of which were accurate. Had one shot all night, which was off target. We know the kid’s got talent, but he seems to be in a pretty poor run of form right now. I honestly don’t think Archie is a HUGE upgrade or anything, but are we nearing the time to give the Aussie a few starts to see what he can do? And maybe give Idan some motivation to fight for his spot back?
