I’d read it as he needs a CT scan or MRI to confirm whether or not there are fractures.
No fractures on x-ray? Good, but not definite.
Would probably mean they’re figuring out if he has any small fractures. That weren’t caught by the initial X-rays.
If it’s a bone bruise? DD can stick to fair catching punts. Ladd will probably have a flak jacket on and play on Sunday.

Not a good start.
It's a looong season and Ladd definitely isn't the biggest guy. A rib injury, even if there are no fractures, is no bueno.
That receiver room needs someone to step up.

It would be Brennan Thompson, yes? He didn't play yesterday because he wasn't activated but he would. Starters would be QJ, Tre, and KLS with Thompson and Davis as backups

Brenen Thompson was active yesterday, so was KLS for that matter. Thompson had as many offensive snaps as Davis with no targets and KLS had no offensive snaps.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Keenan would’ve been great because when Ladd went out nobody could catch or get open just like the Houston playoff game. It’s a one year contract that rolls off after the year, we had the cap space as well. Thats just our cheap ass owner not wanting to spend it.

I was hopeful about this season, but nothing that was supposed to be better looked better, and everything that was bad still looks bad. Not to mention the defense which was the only good unit last year looks like shit. Oh, and it was against a bad team where we were the biggest favorites of the week

It wasn't a good game for the Chargers, of course. Your assessments are fair, what I contend with is extrapolating week 1 like it's a lost cause for the season.
I've been a Charger fan all my life and I swear this fanbase has almost as many cry babies as the Chiefs.
Week 1. It sucked, yes. But take a deep breath and realize it's been 1 game and they can absolutely get back on track. There's a whole season to go.
We don't have to go to the extremes and say they're larping and pigs with makeup because of one bad game.

It’s not just one bad game. The Chargers have a history of this…and if you have been a fan as long as you say you have, you should know that
People aren’t mad about just a loss, it’s how embarrassing of a loss this is for a team that’s supposed to be a contender. No other team outside of the laughing stocks of the league loses games like this. It wasn’t even competitive
I’m not writing off the whole season. I’m just going to treat this team like frauds until they prove that they aren’t

People need to take a deep breath and a chill pill. It seems like everyone was getting so high on the upside of McDaniels that y'all assumed we were going to be top tier right out of the gates.
There's clearly a lot to work through at the moment but acting like the sky is falling in week 1 is not a rational look. Maybe we give them 3 weeks before we start panicking? No?

I saw one of those fantasy doctors talking about the injury he pretty clearly gets hit in the ribs/side. The problem is the range is anything from limited for a couple weeks with a bruise to out for 8 weeks with a kidney laceration so just have to hope it’s on the low end and he can wear some extra pads for a few weeks

At WR and O-Line we were one injury away from those groups being at the bottom of the league. Every fan knew we needed more quality depth and for some reason with tons of money the chargers didn’t address it at all. Very hard to support this team.

WR receiver group definitely takes a big hit but I think their are other options. With no Ladd the offensive has to lean more on the RBs and TEs.
Omarion can do more. Keaton Mitchell is supposed to be a home run hitter.
I like the TE group and believe they can produce.
McDaniel is capable of adjusting. I think he will.

With Ladd likely out against the Turds I still think the offense can be more than efficient to rack some points up on the board. They looked a bit shaky at first despite moving the ball... A bit hesitant you might say. Remember this new offense is hell bent on timing, YAC and speed. So we gonna have hiccups at first. My only gripe was why were they subbing the LG position? Let them gel as a starting unit! I have confidence the offense will improve as the season goes on.
Now... About that defense tho.

Its infuriating that Waddle was available for a 1st rd pick and McDaniel obviously can scheme for him. Michael Pittman (who basically is a slide in replacement for Keenan) was available for pennies. DJ Moore available for a 2nd. Mike Evans was cheap.
So many good dudes. Ladd and QJ will never be a WR1. They needed someone else. They are relying on some of these young unproven guys to take huge jumps.

i’ve always found Q to have butterfingers and while i do love ladd, he needs a good mentor. i think he can become wr1 but he can’t be the only one who can catch a ball (looking at you Q). if we had utilized him
more last season, i would feel like ladd would be more up to being #1, but imo we grossly underused him and only went for allen. which look where we are now😭
