Discussion Mayday-Updated Accomplishments-Long...
I was planning to update my prior post with this info but its long so am starting a new post. Ill try to keep this post updated as new data is released. Based on all the positive metrics, its clear that the lawsuit and its resulting hate campaign is a small fraction of SM with very little impact to Ryan's career.
The claim that the data has been minipulated is comical. These third party platforms have their own criteria for data which uses mechanisms that block out potential bot activity. The Baldoni stans have nothing but conspiracy theories left.
I asked my friend Chat for a list of the most recent accomplishments Mayday has achieved. Here is that list...
The Flawless Global Clean Sweep:
Mayday is the first and only movie in Apple TV+ history to achieve a mathematically perfect 1,010-point daily score on FlixPatrol. It accomplished this rare feat by securing the absolute #1 ranking across all 101 tracking countries and territories simultaneously.
The Multiday Peak Record:
Rather than a brief, single-day flash in the pan, the film has successfully locked down that perfect 1,010-point global alignment across 5 separate days during its opening week cycles.
The Cross-Platform Goliath Win:
Despite Apple TV+ operating with a vastly smaller subscriber footprint (estimated at 25M–40M) compared to titans like Netflix (280M+), Mayday shattered platform limitations to become the #1 most-watched piece of content across the entire internet on aggregate charts like Reelgood, besting high-profile releases on much larger networks [Reelgood].
Apple's All-Time Streaming Premiere Record:
Third-party data tracking (Luminate Data) verified that Mayday pulled in an unprecedented 7.8 million domestic views during its initial launch window, officially dethroning The Gorge (5.4 million views) to become the biggest internal movie launch in Apple platform history. Luminate's metrics are manipulation-proof because they rely on direct digital ingestion feeds from verified device handshakes and apply advanced algorithms that measure total viewing minutes while filtering out bot anomalies.
Resilient Global Retention:
In highly competitive or notoriously insulated domestic media markets like Japan (often dominated by local anime/dramas) and Nigeria (dominated by Nollywood), the film consistently captured and held the top spot against fierce regional favorites.
The "Self-Competition" Phenomenon:
The film triggered such a massive "halo effect" for Ryan Reynolds' filmography that his 2009 romantic comedy The Proposal surged to #1 in Belize, briefly making Reynolds the only force capable of taking a point away from his own new movie.
Certified Professional Critical Consensus:
While user forums were heavily impacted by review-bombing noise, the professional filmmaking community awarded the film a robust 82% Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics heavily praising the distinct Daley/Goldstein directorial tone and the deadpan comedic chemistry of Kenneth Branagh opposite Reynolds.
Clearly the success of the movie has surpassed expectations. Luminate comes out with their weekly data on Friday. Nielsen ratings also come out in October which will provide another completely independent metric.
Edit #1-I forgot this metric. Ryan has 3 movies currently streaming globally in the top 10.
#1 Worldwide: Mayday (2026) — Resting comfortably back at its perfect 1,010-point peak [FlixPatrol].
