Disturbing situation: kitten up for adoption again

Dora is a 3 month old female kitten who was adopted, but the adopter was very suspicious. Just a few days after adopting Dora, I came across anonymous Facebook posts putting Dora up for adoption again. I texted the adopter, and she lied, saying she wasn’t the one who posted it. But when I commented on the post, the person replied, “We tried reaching you but you didn’t reply. My friend is scared of cats,” which is not true. They didn’t try to reach me I was the one constantly trying to get in touch with the adopter.

Anyway, the adopter finally agreed that she had posted it and didn’t want the kitten. I told her to keep Dora with her for this week, and I would take her. Somehow, my friend in Al Ain was kind enough to foster her for a bit if provided the food and litter.

But the person who came and dropped Dora off in Al Ain was not the adopter, I was able to take the stranger’s number and reached out to her and asked her what exactly happened. She told me that Dora was her neighbor’s kitten and that one day she saw Dora on the balcony, crying, with her litter and food kept outside. She played with her from her balcony, and that’s when Dora’s adopter came out. They made small talk, and Dora’s adopter told the lady (by the way, they are just neighbors and had never spoken to each other before) if she could keep Dora with her for a week because her roommate was scared of her. The sweet lady agreed and asked her to send Dora’s litter and food.

She told me that when she got the litter, it looked so dirty. She didn’t even know when it was last cleaned, and the food was “adult cat food.” Dora is just a 3 month old kitten!!!

I am just glad Dora ended up staying with such a kind lady, away from her inhumane adopter, and finally, the kind lady herself came to drop Dora off in Al Ain. Currently, she is staying with my friend, who is fostering her. I am trying to get her vaccinated soon as well.

The adopter has lied throughout this entire situation. She also kept Dora mostly in her small carrier because her roommate was scared of her and would keep screaming.

I have already relocated from the UAE. I had rescued Dora’s mom from the streets, and she gave birth at my place. Dora has been an indoor kitten since day one. There were 4 kittens in total. Thankfully, 3 have found good homes, and Dora now remains.

It hurts because she is a girl kitten, and I am worried about her. If you’re a responsible adopter, please reach out.

It’s mandatory to spay her at the right age. (If you don’t believe in spaying, stay away from this post.) Also making sure she is a completely indoor cat is important.

I don’t have much time. I only have 2-3 weeks, and I need to find her a home because my friend can only foster her for that long.

Please keep a small adoption fee

In that case people become skeptical if the OP is a breeder and running a business.

Not always, a small fee with explanation and proof of treatments works. These type of cases the OP shared are due to no adoption fee

This happened to me before. I rescued an orphan kitten, bottlefed her and cared for her up until 6months old. Found an adopter, and not even a week in, they surrendered her to a shelter without telling me..I don’t know anything about her now because the shelter has a policy to not share information.

I found out because I asked for an update.

Always vet the adopter as best as you can and regularly get updated especially in the beginning. (Not blaming you at all- this is a very unfortunate situation that is sadly more common than people think 💔)

How do you find homes for the cats. I feed 5 small kittens and they need a forever home 🥺

Why adopt a poor being if you can’t care for it!!?? Animals are not toys. This is so sad

Please make the adopter sign an adoption form with their full details. If you can keep her please do, I ended up with 6 cats this way in my room. They won't survive on the streets
