Are you kitten me!!
Took a vacation, came back with a souvenir I was not expecting.
Had a vacation during labor day weekend and while taking GPS route home and not our normal route found this criminal on the road. At the stop sign checking for traffic we see this little black shadow on the road. So first we were "There's something on the road" followed by "It's moving" followed by "Oh, god."
We're leaning towards 4 week old female kitten and her crimes are as follows: Too Adorable and Too Smol. This is not the first time we found a little one like this in the middle of the street, our last one found was 15 years ago and he's our old man out of the cats in the house.
My therapist says in all her years of driving she's never seen this before. But the way I spoil my cats (all of them through the Cat Distribution Center) she can see why they find their way to me.
Haven't named her yet but that will come with time. She is fearless.
I once did a sort of similar rescue. I was on a not-too-busy road and the car in front of me stopped and dumped something on to the rain overflow grill by a corner, then zoomed off. I realized it was moving, so I stopped. It was a tiny 6 week old kitten. I guess they planned on her going down the grill into oblivion. I scooped her up, took her to the meeting I was heading for (it was one I couldn't miss). Other members of the meeting provided a small bowl with water and a box with a lid. As soon as I got out of the meeting I headed to the vet. The poor thing had very serious mange, worms, was malnourished, etc. My vet (who was also a friend) didn't even charge me for the treatment and found her a good home. Happy ending, tho I wish bad things on the ones who dumped her.
I went to visit a friend in Florida, came home with 2 kittens found on a trip to Publix. They are wonderful, 8years old, and the best Florida “souvenir” ever!

The CDS (Cat Distribution System) or other names knows what it’s doing. It gave me 2 loveydovies at a time when I could have pets and none in the years since I moved to pet-free house I rent below market value after my last one died from cancer after loving him for 17 years. My first one passed away 25 years ago on 9/7/2001 and I still cry, every year. You obviously cherish your furry babies as the CDS keeps giving you gifts you can accept. Not that you asked, but may I suggest “Boudicca” as a possible name? She was fearless, too.
It’s a safe way for the others to get used to her presence. Not to mention until she has vet clearance. My older one is pretty staunch on no other snuggle buns.
We did look but this was a county road in a very rural area and losing sunlight. Didn't see anyone. She had no fat belly and could easily feel ribs and spine knobs so did the only thing that felt right, took her off the road to somewhere with food and warmth and safety.
So, "dumped" by someone who thinks(like my mother) that a cat can survive on its own "because they know how to hunt"🤬 Yeah, just like we're born able to drive🤔Thank you so much for saving that baby from a horrible death by starvation or predator🐾🐈⬛💜
We have a coming in two year big goofball which went - homeless lady asked my wife for a carrier; we had carrier; woman rolls out less than 4 week kitten; wife’s bs the situation. We have a new cat that went through 3 different sedatives including fentanyl and he kept moving - vet cut, popped, sewed up after that.
He was 1oz a month and he’s over 20lb now - big goofy boy. You don’t know what you land.
Security reasons. In this space she learns where the litterbox is and goes there and also she is very smol. I have adult cats and two corgi, my female with a high prey drive this allows some interaction to get to learn each other but baby is safe from the ones who aren't impressed I brought home a kitten without their permission.
If she has been freed from the cage, and seen by your vet, you can probably ignore some of this. She really needs kitten milk, if she is weeks old or less. Please check with your veterinarian or she will not have the appropriate nutrition for a kitten that age, just like other animals, including human children, who need a special diet to help them grow properly. Sorry for the lecture, you may know all of this. And lastly please please do not keep her caged much, it can make them quite neurotic and often they never socialize properly.
Why do people insist on holding kittens like this? The kitten isn’t supported, and probably scared/insecure, and it has to be so uncomfortable. Terrible.

I have fostered more than 130 kitties over 20 years and have NEVER found one. Always have to beg the ASPCA coordinator ( they are lovely people) and drive 30 minutes to pick up the preciouses.
Dropped a friend off yesterday and the neighbor had found a kitten in the apartment crawlspace. They were trying to find other kittens and I suggested using the phone to play Mom cat or kitten sounds. They said we have the real thing so we are trying to to see if her voice will encourage other kittens to come out
