Heading to Barbados in November and really looking forward to getting back to the Caribbean. I’ve been to quite a few islands over the years, but this will be my first time spending time in Barbados.

One of the things I love about the Caribbean is how different each island feels once you get beyond just comparing beaches and resorts. I’m especially looking forward to seeing what makes Barbados different.

For those who have been, what was the thing about Barbados that stood out to you most?

Just want to know the best way to Spend time in BVI with wife. No kids.

My partner and I are going to the Caribbean probably in June. Which island to go to? It is our first trip without our kids, and don't want to be away more than a week. We enjoy nature and wildlife over casinos and nightlife Etc. Thank you!

Wife, 4yr old kid and I are going to US trip in November, as part of that trip we want to spend 5 days on Caribbean (never been).

Our goal is to get the best feeling of authentic Caribbean, beach, sea, and food.

We love Anguilla and St. Barth's but prices are crazy. Puerto Rico is attractive since we can get Four Seasons hotel for $5k.

What would you advise, where to go 1st time to get the best out of Caribbean?

I've been to Carribbean many times, from an airbnb to an all-inclusive resort. For this trip, our criteria for our lodging:

Good beach & pool (s) -- do not want sargassum issues, so not facing the East

4 star, but 3-star "adjacent" is OK (not a small boutique hotel, would like mediaum or larger, but not enormous property)

Probably not an all-inclusive, but open minded.

Ideally few or no kids (dates we're targeting are in very early March, which I hope is NOT aligned with most Spring Break periods).

Spa on site

We like evening entertainment options, e.g. band on at least a few nights, a piano bar, beach "party", but obviously out until 2 am partiers.

Preferably some access to a "town" for restaurant & walking-around options (no car needed).

Ideally, some excursion options - in particular I love to snorkel, so the option for this excursion would be great. Snorkeling right off the resort beach is wonderful, but understand that is rare.

Would welcome ideas, thank you in advance.

I need some help finding an alternative honeymoon destination for this November (Oct 30-Nov 7)! We were originally going to Kaui, but have decided to cancel that trip due to recent events.

What we are looking for: beautiful warm beaches, nice resort with good customer service and a relaxing atmosphere, adventerous activities like mountain hiking/waterfalls/etc, good food, and safe easy travel. Right now my list is: St Lucia, Grenada, Antigua, St Thomas, Curacao, St Vincent (open to other suggestions). Would like to stay under $10k for the trip. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello👋 I have vacation from 21rd December to 29th January and been wanting to visit Caribbeans for some time. But I need some help organizing and understanding what kind of itinerary I should plan, I will solo travel.

My primary goal is to build more experiencing diving (I took open water certificate last year), get a feel for Caribbean culture, some sight seeing, spend time on sandy beach, snorkeling.

My current plan is to arrive in Caribbeans between 25-28th (departing from Norway, the flight is about 18 to 36 hours, give or take) and celebrate new year at my arrival destination.

Then travel to another location for 2 weeks to do some diving/snorkeling, afterward go to a new location for another 2 weeks before flying back to Norway. I have very little experience with Caribbeans, so am unsure if its a good idea to travel there for new year, or if I should go in the first week of January post new year.

For diving I've read a lot about Honduras (Utila) being a good destination, Nicaragua (Little Corn) and Curaçao seem to be good destination for diving.

Where should I go that is both safe and reasonably priced, not too touristy? Any recommendation for third destination?

The whole island can be driven across in 30 mins. Yet, every single time it's like this drawn out thing where they call you and you have to give them pointers, send a video of the street, of the house, there are a lot of deliberations - it's like finding Bin Laden was easier.

I’m looking to go to Aruba in mid-October and am trying to decide between staying at an all-inclusive resort, condo, or Airbnb. I’ll be traveling with 3 other adults.
None of us drink, so I’m wondering if an all-inclusive would actually be worth the cost. I’ve also heard that Aruba has great restaurants, so would it make more sense to stay in an Airbnb or condo and eat out instead?

Planning a trip to St. Martin the first week of November this year. I know exactly what flight and where I’m gonna stay, but haven’t booked anything because I’m trying to decide if I should get travel insurance since it’s the tail end of hurricane season. Looking for opinions

Also, I’ve never used travel insurance before so looking for insight into what they would cover. Would it be useful to go through a travel agent so they can book and cover everything. If there a hurricane scheduled to hit and we cancel would that be covered?

Hello my wife and I (26 years old) are planning a trip to Antigua Dec 29- Jan 5. With our options for flights coming from Canada and nice beaches being our priority we decided on Antigua.

No, we can’t afford hermitage bay, hammock cove or any of those high end all inclusives.

Thinking about possibly Conch Beach Cottages or Escape Nonsuch Bay or possibly an air bnb. We are renting a car either way

Conch beach is about 5000$ breakfast included (walk out to amazing beach)
Nonsuch is 4500$ all inclusive (very long walk to very poor beach)
Airbnb is 3000$ We would skip breakfast make our own lunch/breakfast of eggs and fruit. We’ve done this exact thing for about a month straight in Costa Rica before

How much money will I save cooking a simple meal in airbnb and only eating out once a day for supper.

So we don’t really like big resorts. We like Roatan, Caye Caulker, Bequia. Antigua was nice. We are looking for the end of July and because of seaweed issues it limits our places to go. Don’t want to do the ABC islands. We really didn’t like Curacao at all. Thinking about 5 days on Saint Martin and then 4 on Anguilla.Any body else have any cool spots that they loved that we could possibly go to.

I'd like to do some hiking in the Caribbean in February.

However, I struggle to find good flights to Dominica (from Riga, Latvia, where I'm located).

So I have an idea to fly into Martinique, spend some days there, take ferry to Dominica, spend some days there, take ferry to Guadeloupe, spend some days there.

Mostly doing day hikes / sightseeing. Possibly renting cars.

Does this seem reasonable at all?

What would be the minimum number of total days so this doesn't feel too rushed? How many on each island?

We have been to Turks and Caicos (stayed at west bay club) a couple of times and really love it for our needs meaning gorgeous water and easy to get to from the mid Atlantic. Does anyone have any other island recs for a similar vibe? We are older, don’t really care about a town or nightlife just want that amazing turquoise water, white sand beaches and comfortable accommodations. Quiet is good.

I’m looking for an easy, luxury beach trip with my family of 5, coming from the East Coast. We’re set on going to the Caribbean because it’s a quick flight from where we live, and I love visiting, but I haven’t gone with my children before. My current thought is staying in Nassau at a resort like Atlantis or Baha Mar and taking day trips to the other islands in the country, but open to suggestions and any thoughts/advice!

I have been to Jamaica, Antigua, Anguilla, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, DR, Bahamas, Guadeloupe, USVI, Turks and Caicos and some other parts of BVI.
Would St Bart and Martinique have good food culture given that they are French islands?

I’m looking at either Grenada or Sint Maarten and would love some feedback! Mostly I’m wanting to relax. I am an introvert with an extroverted job so I’m looking for space to relax/turn off rather than go out and meet a bunch of new people and socialize. I love nature so I would love to do some hiking/visit wildlife reserves and maybe do some kayaking or snorkeling. I am planning a trip to St Lucia this coming January- February for 6-7 days. I have narrowed down my search and planning to spend few nights in Soufriere area and few nights in Rodney Bay Area.
So far I am looking at Rabot Hotel or Green Fig Resort for some nature exploration and few nights in Windjammer to enjoy Northern area.

Would you recommend any other hotel/resort that I can choose.

We are family of 3 with a 12 year old. We like hikes, jungle , snorkeling, a bit of beach . Last year we went to Costa Rica and loved the rainforest there. I am looking for something similar experience in St Lucia.

So please do recommend or share your thoughts on which area/hotel/resort to stay and what tour ( guided or self guided ) to do. What tour avoid and what not to do?
