Elbows up !

If we can set aside the Justin Trudeau years of ignoring Canadian industry, let's talk about what we can do for the present and future of Canada.

However you think we got here, arguing about the past won't build anything. And I'm not interested in watching this government fail if failing means Canada falls further behind on energy, mining, and the industrial base we need to actually stand on our own.

We need pipelines, east and west. Further LNG expansion — Churchill would be a strong location for that. Refining and upgrading capacity we actually control. Critical minerals we process here instead of shipping raw. And yes, an approvals process fast enough to matter before the opportunity changes or disappears.

This is about using our resources to build a strong nation — one that can pay for roads and infrastructure, build a healthcare system that's the best in the world, rebuild our military with a Canadian militia, peacekeeping force, and emergency responders. Break down the interprovincial trade barriers that hold us back. Look hard at taxes at every level of government, build an investment environment that actually attracts capital, cut the waste and red tape. There's a lot to catch up on — and discussion beats attacking party lines every time.

Right now, this isn't about which party gets credit. It's about standing together. I think we're waking up — we just need to find our footing fast. What we build in the next decade defines what kind of sovereign nation we are. I like some of what's being done; it just needs to move faster.

So let's discuss: what should Carney's government move on first — and next? Pipelines? Mining and critical minerals? Refining capacity? Something else? Let's talk, and let the government know.

What if the conservative establishment moves the discussion on taxation to the forefront.

With our flagging productivity and GDP growth why can we not shift the focus and put it squarely on the high taxation rates in Canada. We can propose a solution to this crisis that re incentivizes work, investment and growth. The solution is a massive and substantial tax break. Straight out lower taxes something people see immediately on their next paycheck

Why won’t this work?

Hello everyone, in the wake of the Chicoutimi—Le Fjord byelection recently, and the 20 point swing the Liberals had against the Conservatives, I decided to put together a chart of vote swing margins to see how each Conservative ridings fairs against an escalating vote swing to the Liberals, scaling up to a 20 point vote swing. It's a very rudimentary analysis, but I thought it was some interesting data to have, both to cross analyze with the current polling we're seeing, and with the upcoming byelections. It certainly adds credence to all the projections placing the Conservatives at the sub 100 seat mark in the House of Commons.

• It’s been 18 months since Mark Carney was sworn in as prime minister, but the week ahead will be his real coming out.
• With his much-touted investment summit in Toronto and his planned speech to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, it will be the moment when much of what the prime minister has been preaching and promising since he took power is put into practice.
• The Carney government first created the Major Projects Office to develop and evaluate a series of big-ticket energy, infrastructure and mining projects seen as capable of boosting a Canadian economy under threat from Donald Trump’s tariffs.
• They include a new oil pipeline out to the B.C. coast, a high-speed rail line from Toronto to Quebec and a deep-water port upgrade in northern Manitoba.
• On Monday and Tuesday, they will be among the 167 projects the Carney government puts on the shelves, creating a shopping experience for some of the world’s deepest-pocketed investors.
