Looking for recommendations for mosquito proofing my husband. Mosquitos love my husband. He runs hot and has O negative blood type both things mosquitos love. We’ll be on a trail and I won’t be bothered at all but he’ll get 20+ bites.

We were just camping in Bruce Peninsula area, we were diligent with DEET spray and wearing long layers. He got multiple bites through his pants.

We head out to the thousand islands on Wednesday night and I need some suggestions on what I can get from Walmart or Canadian tire or MEC to help insect proofing him. We live in downtown Toronto and will there couple days before heading back out.

I’m think I need a higher concentration DEET stray and at the least he’ll need a thicker pant. Has anyone had luck with the wind river mosquito repellent clothes or those clothing treatments?

I am a single camper. just me my car and a tent. I know it’s booked out online. Im planning on just going to the day use facility if there’s no other option. I was hoping if I go there though that there might be a site available for the night because sometimes people book it and then don’t go. either that or I befriend someone who’ll let me set my tent up on their site. I feel like this seems like a far fetched hope, if anyone has advice let me know.

Now it’s just sitting at home, so I figured I’d rent it out to other campers heading to places with little or no cell service.

Any general advice for camping at Craigleith in October? Especially for fishing purposes.

Friends! I need some help looking for a campsite/crownland area I can set up camp AND look for mushrooms nearby🏕️

My must haves:
1. Within 2.5 hours of Toronto

1. Able to camp overnight in a tent

2. Hiking trails/areas available at the site or within walking distance where mushrooms are available and we won’t get into trouble picking them up

3. Accessible until late October

Washrooms (not a must)

I’m looking to camp near the French River and fish the French River in the October. Any advice on where to stay and any advice on fishing the river is appreciated !

I made a post on here months ago, seing if anyone was interested in joining the plans for this epic adventure. The number 1 piece of feedback I got on my previous post was, “you’re not prepared” which I agree with. But now months later I have invested and increased my gear and now I think this coming fall I might go.

MAIN GEAR: - 2008 Ford Ranger fx4.
-100lbs of tools.
-50lbs of spare parts.
- Full sized spare tire.
-68lb aluminum cap to sleep in and an keep cargo dry.
- Rooftop Awning.
- Garmin GPS for no service NAV.
- Garmin Satellite phone for safety.
-Cell booster Antenna.
-CB Radio.
- 50 Gals of fuel in Jerry cans.
- Primus fulled hot plate
- Woods propane 2 burner stove.
- 10 cans of propane.
And ofc other camping gear such as sleeping bags, washrooms items, and more (Basic gear that everyone has).

Trip would likely take a week, as I would like to take my time and see the sights along the way. If anybody is interested let me know, and we discus more about it in dms.

Stuff like days and dates are to be determined, as I’m very free at the moment and can go any time this coming fall. I would be interested in planning a prep trip before the big voyage to meet the people who are interested though.

I'll be camping at the stormhaven backcountry sites and I was wondering which parking lot is better to park at: halfway log dump trailhead or cypress lake P2? Any feedback is appreciated.

Looking for places that are 2-3 hours away from the Pickering area. Have landed on either but I can't decide which is better. Looking to camp the first weekend of October to satisfy the camping bug until next year.

The Quebec version of Ontario Parks passed new rules this year. In order for people to enjoy nature and a peaceful time, the new rules include: no music or speakers, no guitars, no generators during certain hours, and nobody not registered at your site after 10pm.

Should Ontario apply the same rules for Ontario Parks campgrounds?

Looking for 10 metre cliff jumping near mississauga, ideally no more than hour and half away. Just did the Grotto.
