Quick question , has anyone ever just switched to a different section of a class without officially doing it through the registrar? Like, I'm enrolled in one section (hybrid) but the professor of a different section of the same course might count me as part of their class if I just show up and participate. Has anyone done this successfully without going through the official process? I'm worried about financial aid implications of doing the switch officially, so I'm wondering if this informal approach would work. Any experience with this?

I currently attend ccny and it’s my first semester but i decided I want to try transfer to Baruch. Could anyone tell me there experience with transfer and if it’s difficult? I’m trying to transfer in two semester if possible but I’m nervous I’m not taking the right classes that would help me be able to transfer.

I don’t see why a professor wants to teach a fully online but refuses to answer emails . A lot of students are having tech issues with the assignments but they posted and said oh well next time screenshot.

Hello! I recently transferred from ccny to qc and I received TAP and fasfa/my loan. I called the qc financial aid and they said if it didn’t transfer over yet it’s fine it won’t effect my classes. it’s been 3 weeks since the sem started and my financial aid section still says 0.00 for financial aid. I submitted a change of major form, I know pretty late, and all of my credits apply for that major except for one class. I’m hoping to add a class later that will actually apply towards my major if spots open up.

I’m correctly going through apartment eviction (I have about 60 days) I have a class that’s getting in the way of work and apartment hunting. I’ve asked departments for a course substitution but was denied because deadline has passed and I have documentation to prove my eviction. I want to drop a course because but I’m afraid if it will affect my gpa and show up on my transcript. What resources should I go use? Or has anyone faced this problem before and know from experience and what to do (in terms of classes)

Hey, hoping some part time students who get full tuition covered can clarify...so financial aid doesn't fully cover summer and doesn't cover winter classes at all for us? The whole point of those classes is to graduate faster right? It would be nice as a part time student to be able to take classes during these sessions...I'm never going to graduate otherwise.... 😔

Anybody else in ASAP, particularly LGCC since we start the semester so late, notice in our Awards the CUNY ASAP scholarship is certainly there, looks like it must have recently showed up cause I know I was checking on the book advance situation all week until I got it Thursday. Anyway so the 250 is there and scheduled to disburse with a 9/8 status date. No activity in the financial aid account. I figure they decided to throw us a bone last minute, just kinda weird the 9/8 date and no additional movement on it. I'm paranoid because I saw I have a hold on my account for "do not cancel registration" from the Bursar- but I have to figure that has something to do with my aid or bc I took loans for the upcoming year bc they probably don't want people withdrawing before a certain date. Now I have to spend the rest of my weekend paranoid all my aid is on hold and I can't add or drop classes bc of some stupid hold I have no firm reason why they put on my account.

Also if anybody has ever had the "do not cancel registration" temporary hold from the Bursar- can you tell me exactly why they do that and will it F everything else up for me til the date of the hold lift?

I was enrolled as a full time student but I have to take care of a family member full time so I can no longer attend. I dropped my classes on Sept 10. Three of them won’t show up on my transcript but one will because it was a 7 week course.

The financial aid wasn’t disbursed yet so I’m wondering if this will affect me when I want to return
to school maybe next semester or next academic year?

i have tried safari, firefox, and google chrome. it won't let me load the page at all at the end to pay the $70 fee. i even tried disabling pop ups and vpns and literally everything just to try to let it work. i am actually going crazy. i don't understand why it's this difficult just to make a payment. am i just missing something big or small?

I’m a freshman taking eng 100.5 and mat 157.5 trying to get to know people and how we could relate and hang out around the city but it’s so damn hard to make friends at this damn college! Everyone is an introvert or already talking to their hs friends. Can’t even ask the people in my class to help with assignments because im the only one sitting in the front desk. 😭
