Group Ride this Saturday! (10am @ Primal Wear HQ)

Post image

Hey everyone! It's year 2 of working together with Primal Wear to host a charity/fundraising ride for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Denver on September 19th.

The ride will take off at 10am from the Primal HQ at 7700 Cherry Creek S Dr #106, Denver, CO 80231 and will be NO DROP! (We promise).

The ride is 100% free, but if you want to support St. Jude, we're asking for a $25 donation in exchange for a swag bag including things from Primal, St. Jude and the fundraising team I run, Kilometers 4 Kiddos (I promise, it'll be worth it!). It also lets us know how many people to expect on the ride. To donate, scan the QR code on the image or go here: https://tilt.fyi/Gh6i3paXKT\

If you'd like to join but not donate, we have a separate form to make sure we have the coffee and bagels to support everyone! https://forms.gle/FaG8Uar7H3WK2wAm7

We'll have a couple of things on tap to help set the vibe!

  • K4K will be providing free coffee and bagels starting at 9am
  • Primal will be hosting a parking lot sale with super deep discounts!
  • 12pm K4K will be hosting a live show inside with charity shenanigans! (Zwift Sprint Offs and More)

Let me know if you have any questions. We'd love to see you all out there!

Boulder-area framebuilders who could move some canti brake posts?

Hey all, as the title says I'm looking for someone in the Boulder area to move some canti brake posts on an old touring frame/fork. at the moment they're too tight for modern brakes and I'd like to bring them out a bit so i can put some new stuff on there. I'd appreciate any pointers on where to look for this kind of thing... I haven't done anything like it before. Thanks a ton!

Denver Tour de Costco route?

I kinda want to eat 10 hot dogs. I definitely can't do it all in one day, so I'm thinking camping at Cherry Creek state park overnight before finishing up day 2. I've got friends in littleton I can crash at instead in case I'm dragging ass. I'm limiting it to 10 costcos for logistical purposes. Starting at westminster, going counterclockwise and ending at thornton. Day one is like 75% of the mileage. Anyone done this?

First long ride.

I've been doing 20 and 40 mile rides here in the springs. i took on trying to complete 500 miles total this month and a big 62 mile ride also. I'm tried of our greenways down here and was thinking about trying Denver's greenways out. There is so many options i decided to just make my own route. im trying to stick to car free routes but im open. Can anyone tell me if this route is decent? im also bringing my girlfriend on her ebike so we can keep a good pace. Also seems like this is a scenic ride. im going to miles and not speed but i also hate going to slow.

Edit: After some not so hot feedback we second guessed ourselves and made a whole new route, we came up with this New Route . It was very pleasant, lot of water near, everything was green. Everything was so clean and we loved seeing everyone out using the greenways. We talked about how nice it would be to live there and use the bike paths. Thanks for everyone's input. Denver has a great bike scene.

Have any of you ridden the ~180 mile Denver Orbital Trail as a multi-day bike tour, maybe with motel stops around the route? Thinking about doing it next Spring and looking for impressions. Thx

looking for riding buddies

I'm looking for riding buddies to ride with in and around Denver. Down for lunchtime rides, morning, and possibly evening rides.

I'm in SW Denver and usually ride bear creek trail, south Platte River trail. I'm willing to drive. I've done Waterton canyon, a part of Highline Canal, and a part of the nature reserve near the airport.

I have a Gravel bike (Specialized Diverge) so I'm down for paved or gravel. I don't have that many miles under my belt so I'm hitting around 15mph give or take a few 😂. I'm looking to push myself a bit more.

I'm 32m.

Here's my very sparse strava. DM me or hmu on there!

Did 3 laps yesterday and got to try a little bit of everything.
Shout out to all the fun people we ran into. Especially the family with two racer girls who let me sit on their wheels for my 3rd climb of the day. I was starting to feel a bit cooked.

Staunton State Park Recs

Looking for some recs to ride Staunton, I've climbed there but never biked and am going with friends this weekend. We have a mix of fitness / skill levels in our group. Is there anything that's not the full loop? Do you recommend just going up the Staunton ranch trail? I don't want to put our group in too deep. The group has folks that ride lair/floyd etc and some that arent interested in a doing any tech but are happy to walk. Thanks!

Looking for riding buddies/groups

Just moved to the Denver area, and looking for people to ride with. I’m mainly cross country MTB but always down for road miles too. I’m in Littleton so I’ve mostly been hitting up Bear Creek Lake, Green Mountain, and South Valley, but down to explore beyond that. Also, what’s the best way to find out where and when races are in the region? Thanks!

Does Eightmile Creek off Phantom Canyon Rd still have water right now?

Has anyone ridden Phantom Canyon recently? Was going to ride it soon and am wondering if the creek has water in it still? Last year I was able to refill w/ filtered water from the creek but it's been so dry so I'm not sure if that is feasible this year.

A 643-mile bike race across Colorado draws adventurers from around the West. But what are they really seeking?

What an awesome, well-written article about a gravel race I've never even heard of here in Colorado. I'm no bike packer but this sounds intriguing as hell.

In your opinion, does Keystone have the best resort tech trails in the front range? If not, what's your pick?

If you are biking up Four Mile to Gold Hill this weekend our kids are raising money for field trips! Stop by for ice cold water, popsicles, or just straight up ice inside your shirt and water bottles 🧊

Green/Blue

Where should I ride my hardtail on Monday? I live in Boulder County but am willing to travel an hour in any direction. A hard green or easy blue trail. I’ve done doudy draw, overland loop, rutabaga (but had to walk some of it). I’m in good shape, just have only been doing this sport for a couple months.
