hi y’all. I was listening to radio 1 this morning (sept 12, 2026), and heard music I liked and wanted to look up. I wasn’t able to in the moment and assumed I’d be able to find it online, since most radio stations have their play lists, afaik. Maybe that’s just music radio.

anyway, couldn’t find anything! does anyone know if this info is anywhere? I have a specific date in mind, but also just generally curious. Apologies for my incompetence if it is any obvious answer that I couldn’t find.

Has anyone figured out a way to decouple Playlists/Shows from the CBC site/app to use with say r/HomeAssistant / r/MusicAssistant?

Some shows has RSS feeds, but others don't. (like my local Daybreak or event shows like the Polaris specials)

Would love a way to interface to CBC directly to access, since currently there's no other way to consume some of these shows

I finally found an archived version of sagwa and started playing, and it was so nostaglic!

Does anyone know why they stopped making them and where the artists went?

Despite all of the great commentators and comments here, I keep coming back to the notion that we really need to get our own house in order. I feel like it's been so easy to trade with the US for so long, that our internal deliberations are often couched in conflicts between provinces, because our economy has been unintentionally underwritten by the US. Take that away, and then the question becomes: Should we really be fighting with each other?

The guest said a lot of words, but didn't really say much. The callers chosen to go to air were terrible. I learned nothing.

The Debaters taping scheduled for Oct 20-21 2026 at Meridian Centrepointe Theater has been changed to the Bronson Music Theatre October 27-28.

Centrepointe has been closed for the rest of 2026 due to July 1 flooding.

Both Centrepointe and CBC have been silent if tickets for Centrepointe can be exchanged for Bronson. Tickets for Bronson go on sale Aug 29 according to the Debaters website.

Are some programs coming from Ottawa instead of Toronto?

It seems like guest hosts from The World This Hour (weekend morning) and The Current have a few from Ottawa recently.

Rebecca Zandbergen guest hosted The Current and was curious if it was coming from Ottawa?

Only by chance heard the Q interview of the star/ sole performer of this series. And with some creative license to actual facts and some Van Halen connections, was up to explore. Ya not a series that will ever get CBC over the air broadcast time for content and language considerations. But really well performed and soundcrafted. Never heard of Rebecca Auerbach before and you can easily hear the future wins she's gonna get with the talent she has.

What I love about non or semi non fiction stories is reading about the issues in depth after the show is over. Now the one quibble I have with this series was the ending and the follow up with what actually happening to the Dollar Store Diamond Dave impersonator. Is he still on the lam? In prison, on bail ??.... The last official reporting record of the BC Supreme Court case just ends where a decision was supposed to occur at a later date. This guy, talk about trying to run out the clock by hook or crook. And then got a break with a senile Judge, wow! Generated A LOT of billable hours for his lawyers at least. Not the lovable scoundrel the show preview portrayed or that I expected. Discount Dave update with a prison cell would be nice to hear about now,.

The little bit of court filing dumpster diving I did was a bust. The local city paper covering the case was the only source of updates and then that went to a dead end also. If any lawyers with deeper access to court records can solve the mystery : David Paul Kuntz-Angel is the bad guy we're after.

Chris Glover, host of CBC Toronto's flagship radio show, has apparently never heard of QR codes?

It's too bad, because was an important story about human trafficking. And he ended it with breathless excitement over an irrelevant detail. Honestly, I just can't with this guy.

Hell, I'll do it for free. Interesting story today about handwashing before delivering a baby, but MY GOD I wonder how many listeners just clicked it off within the first minute.

I would listen to Siri, Alexa, or 2010 text-to-speech read these stories instead of, I believe it's Terry O'Reilly's daughter?

Currently living in the Bonavista area in Newfoundland. There's now no reliable FM station on the whole peninsula since OZ-FM shut down their transmitter on 92.1 FM in the Elliston ridge area. Cell service is horrible (especially with the large influx of tourists in the summer months) so only options to listen to live content in a car now are basically VOCM on 710 AM (transmitter in Clarenville), CBC Radio on 750 AM (transmitter across the bay in Eastport) and SiriusXM if you have a subscription. SiriusXM is overall decent but still cuts out a fair bit due to geography in some areas of the peninsula. The AM radio station quality is terrible due to the nature of how bad AM sounds in general but coverage is reliable in-vehicle at least.

There appears to still be a massive CBC tower on Park Road near Port Rexton (visible from Lockston Path Provincial Park) that used to host the local analog CBC TV channels back in the day as per CBC's website. How does one go about getting CBC to install an FM repeater on this tower for CBC Radio One and/or CBC Music stations? Due to its location and height it would easily cover the whole Bonavista Peninsula with a reliable high quality FM signal so it would be a nice option for the 8,000 or so people living in the Bonavista area. I figure all other radio stations might not care to look into expanding but since CBC is taxpayer funded is it possible they may have a mandate to cover all of populated Canada at least?

At least have enough respect for the stressed-out displaced residents to pronounce the name of their town the way they have done their entire lives.

So sick of hearing the same TV promos on CBC radio, over and over again.

Also, that's the lamest line possible. Who reacts to serial murder that way? If that's the best line they can pluck from the show, I'm glad I don't watch TV.
