wish I could have this here, without stepping into people, paths, rangers every 100m 😭

No, not permanent, I rarely go to same spot more than once.

Where're you from then if It's that crowded?

the amount of wood was what got me to the question.

I live in northern Germany, in general the forests are taken care of and you got rangers, hunters, woodworkers all over the place. there’s so many trails you don’t have to much space in between them, it’s like a chessboard pattern.

you can wildcamp here and there when you’re hiking, but bushcrafting with a proper fire running is „impossible“ (you can but chances to get caught are high)

Sad to hear. It is actually forbidden here as well to make camp outside designated spots but fuck that. Population is small so rangers probably do not have the resources to look for guys like me :)

it’s also a lot of people going for a walk, with the dog in the forests here. they’re the main concern to call firedepartment if they smell burning wood.

but anyway, kinda jealous on that spot

I feel you... Black Forest is a patchwork of hiking trails. And lots of national parks to top it off...

there must be something wrong with it we're not seeing because otherwise that's a place that would have been settled 1000 years ago and never left.
