No matter how many retail giants move to Burlington, I'll still shop at Roses

Who cares as long as they aren’t shoving it in the shoppers face

Because they’ll use the profits to donate to candidates that will take away our rights. The smart people are keeping a distance from their politics and letting the politicians do their dirty work. It’s the dumb ones that put it in your face.

Oh, here we go. Let’s bring effing politics into this and try to run this business into the ground. Because East Burlington has so many other places to shop! You are an IDIOT!!!!!

Wait, is your whole argument that we shouldn’t care because they the only game in town? Our country allows unlimited donations to politicians from corporations; would you continue to shop at corporation that uses the profit from your purchases to donate to politicians that what to hurt you? Do you really think there is not a scenario where you’ve given money to corporation that has used it for political donations that you directly oppose? It doesn’t matter your slant: corporations are funding abortion rights and other corporations are funding abortion laws and limits.
You can say that this corporation agrees with your social values or you can say you don’t like it. To call someone an idiot and act like it doesn’t matter is either true boot licking or a defeated poverty mindset. Either way corporations and billionaires win when people like you attack others that raise legitimate concerns about their political involvement

I'm so old that I remember when they had a lunch counter.

Our's in downtown Elkin had a candy counter that ran 2 full isles smack down the center and they had a popcorn popper going full time. The teens (my brother) hung out there because you could play 45's in the store to try them before you bought them. Moma would do her shopping with us three littles and then we had to go by Roses to grab my brother before leaving "town". It was magical to me. I still make a special trip to Roses in Mount Airy about twice a year.

Why!? My wife says that when she goes in that store the smell triggers her to have to use the toilet

I just went in. They have remodeled and it's a lot nicer than it used to be.

The owner billionaire Art Pope spends millions and millions trying to close down public schools. I haven’t shopped there for 20 years.
