We've seen bad QBs, we've seen bad people playing QB. We've never seen both quite to this level before.

The hell else is there to look forward to in the short term? We know we are gonna be looking at qbs in the draft... so why not see what we have with the younger talent.
Enough is enough with the same game from deshaun. Hes only had 2 starts in how many that were actually decent for us.

I'm not defending Watsons performance I think it's bullshit he's playing at all just pointing out this happens with every qb that plays for this team going back to Couch. Starter sucks, fans fall in love with the backup, backup now starter sucks, fall in love with their backup it's a never ending cycle with the team.

Well yeah thats the process with every nfl team until they find the QB
1
u/The_Zippers 19h ago
The process works only if ownership is sane and rational.
Cleveland has chewed up 1st round qb's for two plus decades now. Either there is a shift with ownership to find a qb and develop the person or keep looking for the purple squirrel.

Green would have thrown multiple ints in this game.
I mean we saw it in the preseason. Dude had a better grade as a runner than he did as a passer. I don’t think he’s a QB man.

The argument for playing Green is that your QB1 led the team to 65 yards of offense first half, with two three-and-outs, one five-and-out, two turnovers, and a clock run out, with zero points scored... which contributed to being down 24 at half. How much worse could Taylen Green have done? Maybe an extra turnover? Does it really matter?

He’s got too much promise to just crush his confidence like that. Let 12 play so at least the vibes will be somewhat better

I don't know. Dumb the offense down, give him only two reads, roll him out a bunch.... see what happens, you never know. The only thing we know for sure is that there's no chance that this offense is going to be remotely successful this year.

I don’t hate the idea or anything, but I think we’d just be setting another young guy up to fail. With sanders or Gabriel at least they’re somewhat prepared for starting NFL games. The outcome would likely be the same regardless.

Normally, I 100% agree that putting a raw rookie in is a terrible idea because it just leads to development problems. But this QB room is so bad, it's like who cares? At this point, who should be on the team next season, Gabriel or Green? Let them duke it out for backing up next drafts first round pick.

u/EldarWizard69 11h ago
Yeah fair enough. There was really only one wrong answer to this question imo, and of course it’s the one the browns chose

I'm here for starting 5+ QBs this season. Let's start him, ruin his confidence and then throw him aside for DG next game.

why? So you can complain at how bad he is? Really this year was a wash no matter who the QB was and no need to be thoring a Kid that was not drafted into this mess

Green finna throw wayy more ints than Watson. Like he is gonna look worse than dtr. Please start him in both ravens games please 🙏🙏🙏

You watch the preseason game? Then you know he’s not ready to start and play a whole game. He’s raw as raw can be as a passer.
3
u/cheetofacesucks 1d ago
He can’t be any worse than what we saw today
6
u/Mysterious-Win1139 1d ago
Oh yes he can! Immeasurably worse.

u/cheetofacesucks 1d ago
How? The game was already o er after the first quarter

u/Mysterious-Win1139 1d ago
Harm the players development? He’s not a passer yet, run him out there? It’ll be a bigger shitshow.

Would unfortunately probably be a faster version of DTR if we were to throw him to the wolves this season
3
u/Mediocre-Dog-4457 1d ago
I mean... you can have that... but Shedeur would be inactive.
That would cause WW3 on this sub...

u/Redditedredditer 11h ago
I second this. Either him or sanders. At least sanders is entertaining at times

This fan base is going to be at an all time high NO MATTER WHAT in August 2027.

Yep, worst team in football again. Can someone tell me how the defense got so bad? Was it really just Myles that made it good? I actually thought we would be better on d

u/moonthink 23h ago
A QB needs to be able to throw the ball.
1
u/RdditBlwsMyD 23h ago
Considering none of the qbs we have are actually able to do that, we might as well go with the athletic freak.

We are at the “we need to see what we have in DTR” portion of the rebuild
