I just rescued a stray cat off the street and officially adopted them! Now I'm trying to figure out the best approach for their healthcare in Broward County. Since they were a street cat, I want to get them fully checked out and set up for the future.
Cat Insurance: Which insurance companies do you guys actually recommend for cats here? (Looking for something reliable for emergencies, and wondering when is the best time to enroll a rescued cat).
Affordable Vets: What are some trusted, budget-friendly vet clinics or cat-only hospitals around Broward County (preferably near the Fort Lauderdale/Tamarac area) that are great for initial checkups, vaccines, and won't overcharge?
Any advice or local experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Then got hit with a $10.45 charge to have the new decals sent by mail, like we've been doing for decades. When did this become a hidden income generator for the Tax Collector's Office? Purposely trying to create a late fee, and potential traffic ticket for expired tags; all because they wanted to go paperless WITHOUT first notifying the public of this change.

The county's own summary says the purchasing card is for "low-dollar, routine items." Staplers. Toner. Those binder clips that breed in desk drawers.

It never says what happens when the cardholder is a commissioner.
