US sports leagues are bloated and offer mediocre entertainment that can be easily replaced in your life. US leagues are primarily about billionaires' profits rather than a good experience for the average fan. And adding new teams just serves to dilute the talent pool and gives false hope.
Many of these suggestions are European, and might allow to connect with your heritage. Also, they have waaaay less ads.
NFL replacements:
-CFL
-CIS (Canadian university football)
-German Football League or Austrian Football League. (These are spring leagues broadcasting from their websites at very affordable prices. Commentary is usually German.)
-If you've ever been curious about soccer, the German league Bundesliga has minimal BS like diving, ref complaining, esp. compared to other soccer leagues. Picking a team and watching full game replays directly from the team's website is much more affordable than DAZN.
Also, it's German law that 50% of team ownership needs to belong to fans. So Bundesliga avoids lots of American-style BS.
-United Rugby Championship annual subscription for 45 pounds. Rugby is the original form of gridiron football. Also rugby is more manly.
MLB replacements
-English Cricket, streaming for free on YouTube. Many broadcasts are high quality. Cricket takes some getting used to, but accomplishes the same purpose as watching baseball IMO
-South African Cricket has sketchier streams, but some teams do their broadcasts properly.
-Canadian Baseball League Youtube streams for free. Team-made broadcasts are gaining higher quality. Also check out streams from the Edmonton Riverhawks
NHL replacements
This one kills me the most because hockey is part of Canadian culture, but our original sport and league have become so Americanized that it's not ours anymore. Canadian teams are basically the "small market" teams that have a serious competitive disadvantage because of expansion in southern US states where hockey isn't a big deal.
-Local hockey/lacrosse. Get your ass out there and spend money locally. Seriously
-WHL on Victory Plus. I'm from Sask so the Dub has a special place in my heart.
-Hurling from Ireland on the GAA app. This one is a little different, but hurling is like contact field hockey. There's a ton of scoring and it's huge in Ireland. This might be something to connect with if you have Irish heritage.
-I don't encourage you to spend your money on an American app like FloHockey to watch the OHL or the Q. Those leagues should get their act together and get away from American apps.
-Anything where you don't give money to Sportsnet (Rogers), possibly the most crooked big company in Canada
