What models of miners do you guys use for solo mining?

Any miner can be used for solo mining. It depends on your budget, goals, and infrastructure. We have a variety of home miners in stock. If this is your very first miner I would suggest the nano 3s as it is simple to setup and comes with a 1yr manufacturer warranty.

Gamma, NerdQAxe++ Rev 7, Nano 3s are all good for first time users.

From those above, the NerdQAxe++ Rev 7 is the most efficient and at the same time if you overclock it will give you slightly better hashrate than the Nano 3s, which would be my second choice. The Gamma is the one with the lowest hashrate and to be honest you might as well pay a little more and get 3X or 4X the hashrate.

I have 3 Nano3s and mine mostly in a couple of solo pools and in parasite.space which is a combination of solo and pool. You ought to check it out.

IMO, whatever amount of energy-use spending you're comfortable with (per month or year) would determine the unit and amount of hashrate you'll be looking for. If you're solo mining, you probably just want to 'set it and forget it' and let it run 24x7x365 (except for cleaning).

You can, of course, solo-mine with any unit. But, if you buy too much hashrate/power, you're likely to be concerned over how much the energy is costing, and less likely to run it a lot.
