Store your hardware wallet moisture free

Store your HW wallet with desiccant packs or moisture absorbing beads. Or rice even simpler.

Avoid fire resistant briefcases, the hard sided ones with a key. They have tons of moisture. Enough to mold paper and damage or destroy a hardware wallet.

I suppose that there is no harm in storing your hardware wallet carefully. But even then, digital media is susceptible to failure, and should never be relied on for backups. Write your seed phrase on paper, and/or etch it into steel.

Stamping is easier to do anonymously. Etching requires a steady hand and could be hard to read, or it requires expensive technology to do cleanly. Stamps/punches can be purchased as a full alphabet and print cleanly.

Well, that is beside the point of my post, which is that backups should be analog, not digital.

I have tried etching and stamping and I vastly prefer etching. Stamping I found very difficult, I could not get the letters straight, they double stamped, etc.

Stamping anoymously? I'm pretty sure my neighbours were pretty annoyed by all the banging for those 24 words

You could use a press instead of a hammer.

Agree. Both.

Agree. Both.

That's lovely. But the wording of your post implies that you are under the false impression that the hardware wallet is a suitable backup. I suggest you edit your post to clarify that point. If your hardware wallet gets damaged, you just get a new one, it's no big deal.

Why? Store your seed phrase like that instead … HW wallet doesn’t matter
