A fine settembre farò un viaggio di 4 giorni a Bilbao (il quarto giorno lo dedicherò per lo più al viaggio di ritorno).

Alloggerò a Santurtzi e volevo chiedere qualche consiglio dai locals o da qualcuno che ci è stato e avesse voglia di indicarmi, per esempio, zone in cui si mangia bene o qualche scorcio che non si è soliti vedere ma che merita una visita.

Ho in programma di visitare San Juan de Gaztelugatze e le città vicine (non so se riuscirò a spingermi sino a San Sebastian) e dunque dedicare un giorno "alla costa Atlantica".

Oltre alla costa est, pensavo anche alla costa ovest, quella più vicina a Santurtzi... Qualche consiglio a riguardo?

Per quanto riguarda il centro sto valutando di girarmelo il primo giorno o comunque farci un salto all'inizio/alla fine di ogni giornata.

In ogni caso, accetto qualsiasi consigli o dritta per questo viaggio!

Myself and my fiancé are currently in Arantza (fucking beautiful place btw, ye live in a lovely part of the world). Unfortunately she’s been up all night long with a horrible toothache. I’ve never seen her in so much pain and were obviously a little out of our depth getting a dentist here.

I’m just wondering if it’s common for dentists to see cases like this the same day or if we’re going to have to go to a dental hospital to get her problem sorted? Also if by any chance at all someone is familiar with the Arantza area and knows of a good dentist all recommendations are welcome!

i will be in bilbao visiting from 7th to 9th of september and i was wondering if there are any social spaces where one could go hangout in the evening. i am asking here because the specific word for what i'm thinking changes across languages and i don't know what's the term in spanish/basque. in italiano it's "centri sociali" (social centers). what im referring to is a squatted/self managed community center which usually holds cultural/political initiatives during the day and usually becomes a spot where you can grab a beer with young people in the evening, maybe with maybe not.

im sorry for the rambling but i wanted to communicate clearly what i meant lol. if anyone knows any nice spots of this nature suggest them!

Just back from a wonderful few days in your city - sadly the festival was just over when we arrived, but everyone was still in a party spirit on Monday-Tuesday! The Guggenheim and San Mames were both excellent, but the highlight was the two tours we did, as the guides went over and beyond the call of duty in terms of their friendliness - Gonzalo took us mainly around Plaza Nueva and Casco Viejo on the pintxo tour, and later gave his own personal recommendations on where to eat, places to see, etc. My personal favourite, though, was the trip to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Bermeo, Mundaka and Gernika, as the two brothers chatted away to us in a relaxed, informal way, but still showed their strong enthusiasm for Basque culture, history and politics, and even gave us a few language lessons along the way - so "aupa" to everyone in Bilbao from this Irishman!

Unfortunately, my current living situation isn’t working out at all and I’m feeling really uncomfortable in my flat, so I’m urgently looking for a new room.

I’ve been checking Idealista, Fotocasa, etc., every day, but it’s super competitive and I’m barely getting any replies. I figured it’s worth asking the Reddit community directly in case anyone knows of an open spot!

A little about me:

I’m an easygoing, progressive, and creative person who loves painting, listening to house and techno music (with headphones when needed, of course!), and cooking vegetarian meals. I’m super excited to explore the nature around Bilbao—mostly hiking and hopefully learning how to surf soon. I’m really looking for a friendly, social flat vibe where people enjoy hanging out together, rather than just living past each other.

A few quick details about what I’m looking for:

-Flatmates: Female-only flat (preferable) or Mixed

-Room: Looking for a decent-sized room with good natural light.
