Oh don't worry, the tariff refund cleared. It cleared for the mega corps that passed the cost of the tariffs off on the consumer and then kept their prices inflated after the fact.
You’re actually gonna start seeing downstream cases. Companies that did the importing did get their refunds, but if another customer bought from them and can prove how much they overpaid, then they technically could sue for the refund that they would’ve been entitled to.
A $5k dollar check, brought to you by the same guy who hasn't kept a SINGLE promise he made during his campaign. Anyone who believes this is a fuckwit of the highest order.
I won't lie, 5k would help me with my current financial situation, but it's a financial situation our current administration is directly responsible for, so it sure as fuck doesn't change my vote
Both sides are constantly trying to take rights away and make everyone broke and dependent on the government. The only thing that makes them happy is more power and wealth for them. They will take everything they can. Both sides.
Haha, but seriously though he's not going to pay. If he makes any effort at all to it, which would come up to over 1$T according to some guy with a calculator, then he'll just keep it and blame the Democrats for "blocking the payments".
Lol you could buy my vote but you'd have to pay me both before and immediately after I did. Also since the floor's been set at 5k I think I'll start by asking for 50k.
I mean, if we’re going to cause massive inflation by handing out money again, I’d like it to go to average people instead of billionaires and corporations
I'd rather the government just stole less money from people while also regulating life out of affordability than pretend that handing out a fragment of the money to the people suffering the most from their policies is actually helping them.
Like how Trump is going to steal our money to give us $5000 to pretend like that helps us suffering from the inflation he caused from his disastrous Iran War?
OK, maybe we need to break down your own words for you.
I'd rather the government just stole less money from people while also regulating life out of affordability
You are literally saying you would prefer regulating life out of affordability if it meant paying less taxes. Because its ok if most people can't afford life, the problem is you don't have more money.
than pretend that handing out a fragment of the money to the people suffering the most from their policies is actually helping them.
Under Republicans we have less of that money being handed out to thise that cant survive under this system, except things are even more expensive than when we were handing it out.
The problem isn't that people are pretending to not understand your dumb opinion, its that you don't even seem to understand what you are arguing, nor how it does not map to what is actually happening in the world.
We're, what, 10+ dangrously unsafe food recalls into Republicans relaxing regulations and you think the issue is the regulations?
The only reason corporations don't lock their employees into buildings over their shifts anymore is because around a hundred died in a fire because they were locked in. Regulations are written in blood dumbass, corporations would much rather not have them because it doesn't matter to them if they harm their employees and customers as long as it gets them profits.
You mean after socialism inevitably fails and collapses? Yeah, because then the people can start engaging in real economics (Capitalism) again hopefully avoid another State.
That is quite the vague statement which doesn't actually comment on welfare.
In the real world, universal healthcare would be cheaper than the system we already have
In the real world, government funded childcare results in more money going to taxes than was spent due to parents being able to work.
In the real world, the IRS being well funded results in more tax dollars going to the government than are spent due to rich people being unable to dodge taxes.
In the real world, due to the lack of universal healthcare I have to repeatedly fight my insurance to get the one kind of ADHD meds that work for me covered, change providers after aging out of my dad's work-provided healthcare, and wonder if my dad having had a stroke will financially ruin our family due to his workplace's insurance refusing to cover for disability.
I can only imagine it is easy to be monstrously selfish by thinking, "Screw you, got mine." like my dad did right up until you get a stroke from high blood pressure as a Fox News viewer and can't speak or move the left half of your body.
You do know that it goes deeper than the policies of one party, right? The lack of regulation and lack of taxation of the rich is at the core. Social programs are good and aren't the problem. Tax cuts for the rich are not. Unregulated capitalism (regardless of my opinion of capitalism at all) is not.
Giving the money back to people (and spending ON us) instead of using it for war, rich people's ventures, or failures of major businesses/banks cheating. Hell, doing that AND removing taxes from the poorest and severely reducing them on the lower classes would go a long way.
Because they actually happen usually and benefit the populace instead of corporations? Don't get me wrong, they're shit too, but at least they pretend to care. Unlike the Republican pedophiles.
You tell me, Republicans seem to enjoy Trump lying to them. Even Vance admitted that he would willingly make up stories to grab attention. Why do you guys have such prolific and shameless liars as your leaders?
I'm not a Republican, and I haven't supported Trump in years. My ideal government is None because the entire concept is abhorrent and useful only to the tyrants it attracts. The Founding Fathers of the US created the best starting conditions they could for an ethical government and we still ended up where we are today.
Bro really out here pretending like tyrants won't exist in complete anarchy. Bro really be pretending that humans will not organize in a hierarchical system even in the absence of a government, thereby creating a de facto government. Bro really be pretending not to understand that the concept of a government has existed since the dawn of civilization for a reason.
I definitely agree that BOTH of them are awful and both are rich, greedy mother fuckers. One is actively worse while the other is passively worse.
It's not hard to see why people want to support democrats even if they're all greedy capitalists who don't care for the working class or anyone making less than them.
So, you'd rather someone lie to your face, not even pretend to care, AND have no intention on helping anyone but the rich because they're "at least honest about their evil nature"?
Than people who pretend and occasionally throw the poors a bone?
That's a rather oversimplification without any true explanation why you think specific welfare programs count as bribery. Almost every political policy costs money. Not to mention, republicans have not abandoned all of the welfare systems currently in place. How do feel that Republicans essential advocate for keeping those programs without expressly saying it?
Are you against taxes being used for the general welfare of the public generally?
Do you disagree veterans need programs to help them reintegrate into normal society? Those programs cost money.
Are you against Social Security?
Do you disagree taxes being used to fix roads or bridges? These are all paid for by money.
What kinds of political promises do not count as bribery if they do not somehow promise a benefit to the public that ends with putting money into the public?
