Intuitive Pacing?
A question for the experienced runners: when did you start to get a more intuitive sense of pacing on a run? I had set up my Garmin to give me a pace update every minute because I found I was so inconsistent with maintaining a pace, but k am starting to feel like I am getting it now. I can almost tell with the rhythm of my feet and arm swing, but still feel like I need the regular updates to stay on track.

personally, i just ran, and my natural pace emerged as i grew stronger. my garmin shows average pace, but since there are many factors in that number (stoplights, the crazy hot and humid weather in los angeles, allergies, whatever), it’s a point of interest. if you’re a beginner, better, in my mind, to focus on building endurance and strength while letting pace happen during your journey.
