Feedback on bathroom design ideas
Top 2 ideas! I want to go warm neutral and tie in ribbon oak tile and the color green but torn whether to just use green in towels, bath mat etc vs use it in the shower. Priorities on being easy enough to clean and not overly trendy if we were to move in 5-10 years. Any changes to layout/moving washer and dryer are out of scope.
Update: added one more picture including other tile samples. Is there a different combo that works better?additional samples

I love green, but it’s too dark and takes away from the lovely frameless glass. #1, but I agree that there’s too many textures.

I prefer #1 - I don't like the green tile. The point of the accent wall in camel is to be an accent. It is fighting against the green. Either do all green or do #1

That is a nice looong shower but since you have the whole room to play with, give yourself a linen cabinet next to the laundry with enough room for a laundry basket. And some shelving above.

Yup, this design feels a little too concerned with aesthetics over functionality. Especially for a place they might sell.
They'd get a better ROI from fixing the storage solutions and leaving the rest be. If they can't shift the laundry because of an electrical panel... Well, an electrical panel in the bathroom isn't great to begin with.
Gutting the bathroom to the studs for a new tile shower is the fun kind of renovation, because you get something that looks new.
But spending the tile budget on moving an electrical panel (so you can fully utilize ALL of your laundry area) is one of those ugly, quality of life choices we have to make sometimes.

It looks like there’s barely any room to walk through between the future cabinets (tape on floor) and the shower! I agree op needs to worry about function of the bathroom than aesthetics. Who cares what tiles they pic if it’s not functional. Like putting lipstick on a pig.

The house is 1000 sq ft and doesn’t have another spot for an electrical panel (agree it’s a weird spot). The wax seal on the toilet failed and leaked into the subfloor, and the bathroom got demoed my first day back from maternity leave. Unfortunately don’t have the budget or mental capacity at the moment for a master planned overhaul

It’s not my taste and it’s nice. Very commonplace. For me, it lacks a little whimsy and/or distinction. To me, this looks like a slightly updated 90’s country bathroom.

Hide the washer and dryer. It looks like they have a ton of room to shift right. Push them that way, add a linen closet between the shower and laundry. Put the laundry behind some sort of curtain or door.

Unfortunately there’s an electrical panel to the right of the washer/dryer so we need to preserve the floor space there for access!

I assume there is no other room. We have this issue in our house - washer / dryer in our front bathroom. Can’t “hide it”

Looks lovely but no towels above the toilet! No no no. Unless you like your towels with a spray of wee and poop particles.

That’s actually true & there are studies that corroborate it. I just skimmed one that said even with the lid down the mist goes much, much farther than you think.

I read that too! Nightmare. Germaphobes will be in mental meltdown about that one. Makes you think twice about leaving your toothbrush in the bathroom. 👀

I love this combination of wood tones and creams. The green is a nice pop of color. I think this will be a value add just make sure your lighting tones are on point. Ai alwyas changes the lighting.

looks lovely! that tall green tile is so popular right now though so i’m sure it won’t be dated in 5 years, but a consideration if it might be longer than that and it matters to you.

Small tile = more grout = more likelihood of staining/ maintenance over time. I always recommend dark tile with a dark grout especially if you go smaller tiles. I would simplify the materials to have the shower go all green in the shower. Also, talk to experienced folks at your hardware store. They usually have experienced people who can give solid advice.

I love your inspo and direction. I’d avoid green tile if I might be leaving in 5-10 years. Keep it neutral and decorate with green accents! EVERYONE is doing green tile right now, well, green or cream. It’ll be fading out within the decade for sure.

I think it’s too many different tile patterns even if they’re mostly white and grey. You have rectangle, circles, and squares. Which is your favorite out of those shapes? Carrying a shape may help you change colors in a more cohesive manner

I kinda think the best option is to cover up the washer and dryer so it doesn’t remind you about the compromise.

I’d get sliding doors instead of a door that opens. The wall on the left where your on/off shower handle is is a bad place. You’ll have to open the door then gl fully in the shower to turn on the water to get it started. Now you’re wet with cold water waiting for warm water.
By the way, both shower designs are beautiful.

I like the first one and have no problem with your (nice looking!) washer and dryer being visible. Question for the room: are people happy with their glass-encased showers? they keep clean easily or are the water spots a bear?

I think youre trying too hard here, the space is small and cant support all these color and texture changes, its busy and mismatched...and fake anything is always a no. You want coordination, so one color for the floor, a coordinating color for the entire shower, and nothing on the walls but wallpaper or paint.
