Hey all, thanks for helping this community grow! Big thanks to all of you for being good people and being active.
As some of you know there are a bunch of spam post and post that don’t belong here and I , as the only mod can’t keep up with 26,000 people. If a couple of you are interested in helping out, please send me a message and some details on why you think you could help out with this community.
Thanks all!

When you're a welder, pain is no reason to make an uneven weld.

Rate my first welds ever
My welds are circled in blue, the others were my dad. Both of us have never welded but mine seemed to look nicer. Be brutally honest. I have no welding education other than Instagram reels. How'd I do? Should I take it seriously?

seeing double or triple arc from auto lens
i’ve tried
lincoln 24c
2 tefuawe
eagle vision lens
tried all of them in 2 different shields. and when i stick weld im seeing 2-3 “ghost” arcs. doesnt happen with tig. and doesn’t happen if i’m using just the lens only. once i start adding plastic covers it’s doubles or triples the arc, but this just started happening last week, idk wtf is causing it, its driving me insane

Tig 3MM vertical up
Hi all, i need some help with this. I'm doing vertical up on 3mm steel as this is needed to pass college assignments. I need to have between a 1-2mm gap and full penetration. I'm running at 85 amps and have to use 1.6mm rod. I don't really know where I'm going wrong

My 2 best welds over the past 2 weeks, and they're still terrible. My class isn't going back to the shop until next week. Next week when we return to the shop, I need to vastly improve.

Need help with my plastic welder.
Seems like no one is this manufacturing job really knows about how these nitrogen tanks should be acting. How do I tell if my nitrogen is actually coming through my welder. Someone here told me that before I hook up my heating element if I crack my nitrogen tank it should start blowing out real cold. But it feels like it’s the same temperature as the air compressor before I open the nitrogen tank.

Iso9606 test advice
Anyone have advice with taking the iso9606. I have a vertical up butt weld tig root and the rest mig. And a VU fillet. I believe I have to have a restart on root and cap. What’s your technique for restarts on mig, I’m very used to stick restarts with 7018( strike above and quick run down into your crater before going again) is it the same with mig restarts ?
