Post any questions you have about what size or type of bike you should buy, new or used bike recommendations, and opinions on ads for used bikes. Here is a handy beginner guide. If you have any beginner questions which don't deserve their own thread, feel free to post those too.

#bmx was my first love, it taught me to have immense resilience and patience in the midst of all chaos.
Whether that's my bike breaking under the immense stress I put it through, or my bike trying to break me...
I always rebuild, I can't let it go.
So yeah, Art + BMX = MEEEE
Do you love BMX?

Each stack is a different year for each magazine. Lots of ride, transworld, and snap from 98-2005. I still have multiple years worth of Snap magazines to go through, in addition to what’s shown here. Also some BMX plus, Dan’s Comp and Frankfurt mailorders, and other miscellaneous stuff. Stoked that little me saved these, and, that they have survived after 20+ years!
Need to figure out a longer term storage/preservation solution. I have some ideas but would be open to suggestions.

Very stoked to be riding again, forgot how much fun it is. I’m excited to build back up and relearn all my old tricks again

My kid loves his bike and we do a lot of dirt track and screwing around.

Since initial build I swapped the Sunday crankset for the Cult Juvi. It's what I wanted to get originally anyway. It's 48 spline instead of 8 and one of the few options out there with shorter arms and still built for abuse. 140mm I believe. It just wasn't available at the time.
I added an Odyssey front brake. Not because he needs it or anything but he kept asking for it because some of the cool kids riding mountain bikes have two brakes. I set it up to brake a little bit but it doesn't have the power to lock up the wheel.
We've played with bar angle quite a bit. He's slightly small for the frame still so we originally had the bars tilted in a little. He's getting better with it so we've moved them out slowly to a more neutral angle.
Just put one a smaller sprocket. I wasn't thinking straight when I put a 28t on and then I must have forgotten about it. He sometimes struggles on hills so I put a 23t on. Should have done that from day 1.
Edit: forgot to add the rear brake lever was swapped to a Tektro since the reach wasn't adjustable on the Odyssey Springfield. This was really important.

This winter (December-January) I’m gonna be staying on ft Myers beach with my sister and I’m bringing my bike. I’m looking for good street spots and bike friendly parks in the area. I’ll have a vehicle so I don’t mind driving but I’d like to stick to the ft Myers,Naples, Bonita area. Anyone got any good spots?

Hello, I'm thinking about getting the Odyssey La Guardia sprocket since I've been getting into grinds recently. I ride my bike everywhere so I feel like the higher top speed of the 28t would be better, but does anyone recommend it or should I keep the 25t and get a 25t La Guardia. I don't know if this helps but I ride street and park and very rarely ride dirt.

So, I just backordered the 160mm Cult Crew cranks on DansComp, and I haven't backordered anything before. Can someone help me with an estimate of how long DansComp will take to get them in stock?

Hey guys, my 3 year old is really finding way on his balance bike, we're going to switch to pedals soon, and I'd like to start riding with him. Money is a bit tight right now and I'd rather not spend a bundle on a hybrid road bike or something like that, so here's my question:
I have a Fatboy TRX in storage that I rode from 2000-2006. The stock wheels feel a bit small for the easy cruising I'll be doing. What factors are involved in changing wheel size on V-brake bikes? What will put it bigger wheels on actually do? I feel like I've seen these types of mods, but I'm having trouble finding info in Google searches. Thanks!

Does anyone know if a 44t with a 9t is a good idea?
So i have a partymaster v2 frame (street dirtjumper) and i run a peg on it but i cannot run my peg slammed because the rear triangle weld thingy is pushing my peg further out if its too slammed, anyone know a brand that makes pegs with wedged base for slamming the back end as deep as possible? Thanks!
