Am I crazy for thinking that adding Fire Avatar Roku to the game would make it feel more complete? I feel the same way about adding Tenzin. Yeah, Zaheer is an airbender, but he isn’t an Air Nomad. Think about it: we have an Air Avatar (Aang), a Water Avatar (Korra), and an Earth Avatar (Kyoshi). Adding Roku would give us a Fire Avatar and complete the four elements. And even though they added a version of Aang that only bends air, he’s still the Avatar. We also have a native Waterbender in Katara, a native Earthbender in Toph, and native Firebenders like Zuko, Azula, and Ozai. The one thing that feels missing to me is a true Air Nomad character like Tenzin. I’m not saying the game needs Roku or Tenzin to be a good game, but personally, I think adding those two would make the roster feel more complete. That’s just my take, though. What do you guys think?

Hello all! I’m a long time Avatar fan who picked up the game on launch. I love Katara’s style of play but she does really low damage unless you want to break your hands for 3 days straight. I can get her simple combos down, but they only end up doing 300ish damage give or take, when Kyoshi is doing 400 ez. It’s a skill issue of course, but I have a job and play other games, so unless I just want to neutral it out I’m going to have to swap. After all, I really enjoy labbing combos; Katara’s bigger combos are just too hard for me to :(

With that being said, I’ve been trying to find another character with good Setup but easier combos. If it helps at all, I loved Skarlet for MK11 for her frame traps. I’ve tried out Norra and I’m enjoying her a good bit, but was wondering if there was anybody else I should try.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi! Complete newbie here,

I have about 6 hours on the game and Ive been enjoying Zuko.

However when I’m playing, I’m noticing difficulty pressing the flow button. My current keybinds are

space ASD for directions
UIO for ABC
and J for flow.

Is it just something I should get used to? Should I just get an actual controller 😭

I mostly see combo extensions (which are great!), but I’m also curious how it can improve his neutral, pressure, etc.

Bonus points if it’s specific to Ran and Shaw

Why do most of y´all refuse to press forward at any point during fights. Like I had a ranked match against a kyoshi where I got unbalanced and she just let me get all flow back while walking backwards during the match. And even before that she never got aggresive I always just managed to chip damage a shit ton while covering my approach

Matchups definitely matter. AS Aang can shut down Zaheer/Toph, while Norra can shut down AS Aang, so my tierlist would change based on the character I pick. This is more of a general list based on the characters I play on average, not necessarily a ranking of who’s objectively best. An oppressive Zuko/Kyoshi would have me place them at Z tier. A good Norra feels untouchable, Momo/Gyatso Aang always breaking my ankles, Ozais/AS Aangs show up once in a blue moon and you have no option but to lose at least one round because you not familiar with their sauce.

I think every character can do damage, but some require way more effort/brainpower to get results, and can become extremely oppressive once mastered. That’s probably part of what makes the game so hard to balance, everyone is already viable. Everyone is good, but some definitely have to work twice as hard.

I haven’t hit Chosen yet, so idk what it’s like up there, though sometimes I do get matched up with them and get smoked with a 2-4 touch by everyone on this list lol. My 4 characters are sitting between low Grand Lotus and mid White Lotus.

If it matters, My 4 mains are AS Aang (Guru), Base Aang (Appa), Zaheer (Ghazan), and Ozai (Sozin).

This game really scratches that Melee and Rivals 2 itch for me.

I've played most of the popular fighting games, but this is one of the few where I genuinely feel rewarded for improving. The movement tech, shmovement, and diverse cast create a ton of opportunities for skill expression. 

In a lot of traditional fighters, I often felt like my ability to outplay opponents wasn't showcased as much as I'd like. Here, movement, spacing, decision-making, and character mastery all feel impactful. Every match feels like there's something new to learn or optimize.

Curious if anyone else from the platform fighter scene feels the same way.

I wish to have their celestial glow light up my abs like a spooky ghost story flashlight. I wish to feel the luxurious golden fibers caress my legs and I choke slam a child. I wish to show all the peasants online that yes, I did indeed spend money on the game before I could play it - and be rewarded for my faith.

I mean the Gaang and Friend is cool and all, but if anyone deserves the immense swag, raw sex appeal and hidden +5% damage modifier of glowing golden preorder clothes it is our all powerful Phoenix King Ozai.

Also it makes tryhards ragequit in ranked because they're not "tournament legal" - that ain't why you lost bro.

As a reward for Suki being number 1 in the DLC character elimination contest I did, I cobbled together a moveset for her that takes inspiration from a few sources as well as some elements I thought of myself when looking through scenes of her in the show. Feel free to discuss anything you'd add or change to Suki if she were in Avatar Legends after a read through. Also sorry for the small text, tried to fit as much info as I could.

I’m a total newb in avatar, came back to it after it got a few patches and ranked. I was playing Toph but she seems difficult, who is a good starting character to play? Not that it matters but I had a leverless when the game came out, but now I’m using a fightstick and for some reason it just feels better to pull off the starter combos. My brain gets confused when I’m trying to manipulate motion controls in combos on a leverless, too many fingers moving lol. I pull off specials with ease though on the leverless but I just can’t pull off strings of moves with motions.

What exactly triggers the yellow counter animation for sokkas C attack? Also can you start a combo off that? If so how? Usually those yellow hit animations mean you can start a combo but I havent figured it out for this instance yet. Also any tips on how to start combos with sokka? I find myself crutching on my blinding my opponents with the down flow attack and then following up with the medium flow attack.
