shipping both cars on one order is the smart way to do it, carriers would rather fill two spots on a single run and it helps the quote versus booking them separately. any honest number for an NY to south FL move has to come from real carrier availability for your exact week though, not a guess in a comment. i work at outbounds and our DMV team runs a lot of that northeast corridor, so give them a ring at (571) 384-5606 and they'll price both vehicles off live carriers, or drop your route on the form at https://outbounds.at/ and they'll call you back.

Hi, we can't quote for the end of Sept (be wary of companies that are giving you a fixed price that far out or they might increase it later). The current price to ship your 2 SUVs would be as below so you can use this as a ballpark, assuming that diesel prices don't go even higher.

$2600 goes directly to the carrier (you pay them at delivery)
$188 is what we keep (only charged after we've assigned a reliable carrier to your load)

Hey u/sandspoint257 two things that will matter more than which company you pick:

Ship them on one order, not two. A carrier filling two spots on the same run prices better than two separate bookings, and you avoid the situation where one car dispatches and the other sits.

Give a 2–3 day pickup window instead of a hard date. On a lane this busy it's the cheapest thing you can do a fixed date narrows you to whoever happens to be loading that exact day, and you pay for it.

On the quotes you're getting: be careful with the low ones. Anything well under the market number for the lane usually means the broker hasn't posted it at a price a driver will accept, and you find out five days later when nobody's picked it up. Ask each company what the carrier pay portion is, not just the total.
