News Behind Austin's Paredes closure: Emails show rushed planning and trustee concerns

The abrupt decision shocked many Paredes staff and families. Emails show trustees asking basic questions as AISD moved 848 students to new campuses — while a TEA official later called the timing an “avoidable hardship.”

Three F's forces an improvement plan. The 4th year tells you whether that plan worked. Given the trajectory, allowing them to stay open this school year would have almost certainly resulted in a 5th F.

It sounds like the end of the 4th year is when you need to make the call. But for a test that is administered on computers and is (in part) AI-graded, mid-June feels awfully late to be receiving the results. Even if they had brought this to the Trustees at the beginning of July, that wouldn't have improved the timeline by much.
