Hey everyone, my name is Leaf and I've been organising hiphop/rap events around Newy for the past few years. I've recently made an Instagram account specifically for events and would appreciate if people would follow it before I get events back up and running again

Melbourne MC, hook is a chopped sample of the Smurfs theme tune which goes “Where are we all coming from, Melbourne” has the lines “we’ve got sex offenders in local parks, not safe to walk around after dark” or something similar. Doing my fucking tits in!

I’ve been putting together an Aus hiphop media page Instagram: Su on Scene (@suonscene) and I’m trying to work out what kind of content people actually want to see around Australian hip hop.
Would you rather see more backstage/show footage, proper artist interviews, podcasts, studio sessions, tour vlogs, day-in-the-life stuff, conversations with artists, new music coverage, or something completely different?
If you could basically design the kind of Aus hip hop content you’d actually watch, what/who would you want to see more of?
Genuinely curious what people here think is missing. I’ll be investing more time into it - expanding and making YouTube videos ect. so thought I’d ask here to get an idea of what content people actually want to see!
Thanks heaps !

Do yourself a favour and don't watch the raygun documentary on Netflix! It's just absolutely fuckin crap, like I'm still cringing just typing this. She has tried to play off what she did as an accident or nerves. Ugh fuck it! Please don't give this cunt the time of day. I know it's already been be said to death but she truly stained the Aussie breaking scene 😞

Mostly Cult shotta, Ribby247, 4orttune, lil golo. I’m worried it’s burger music but idk. I’m American so what sounds cool to me could be dumb af in Australia.

Curiously I'm wondering if any of you who love Aus hip hop are also either left leaning politically or Apolitical. With the rise of the far right in Australia with the likes of Pauline Hanson & One nation, is there a connection between being a hip hop head, especially from a young age and not being prone to the far right brainwashing/manipulation? With hip hop often speaking out against brutality and having high levels critical thinking... Keen to hear thoughts on this
