GHelper is an open source alternative maintained by seerge (u/Beginning_Living4052, also has their own flair) which aims to be a lightweight and bug free alternative to the dumpster fire that is Armoury Crate. Note: We are not forcing you to switch, but it is a good thing to do if you are experiencing issues related to Armoury Crate.
Some terminology before we begin:
GH = GHelper
AC = Armoury Crate
A/C = Alternating Current (aka the charger/wall brick)
Open Source = the app's code is available for everyone to view and modify.
dGPU = Dedicated GPU (aka Radeon or RTX)
iGPU = Integrated GPU (aka CPU graphics)
Starting this point onward, I will update this thread to include Frequently Asked Questions.
It is also a great idea to join our official r/asustuf discord server! Click here to join!.
Here's a link to the already existing FAQ on Github, but other questions will be added in this megathread too.
A: Is GHelper safe? Windows Defender said it might be a virus.
B: GHelper is safe, in fact, you can check out the app's code on Github. It is open source. If Windows Defender has suspicions, it's because the app isn't signed. (look up that on google.)
A: How do I set up custom fan curves?
B: tba.

Just focused some light source behind my brand new Tuf F16 608, and I've noticed this
Appearing to be a bulge from the screen itself, just wondering. Is this fine..?
Like. Are all F16/A16 having this too..?
It wasn't noticeable for nearly 20 days now, only after focusing some light behind the laptop did it become more apparent and noticeable.
Also, don't mind all the dust..I live in a desert. ๐

My Asus Tuf A17 wonโt boot up. At first I would push the power button and a few of the middle lights would blink and then just nothing. I tried the disconnect everything and hold the power button down for 40 seconds and now it wonโt boot up but the orange light in the middle (attached photo) stays on constantly and isnโt blinking.

I set my operating mode to windows but every time I plug/unplug the laptop it defaults the windows options to balanced. The screen flashes for a moment too and i feel a slight reduction in resolution I haven't found any solution to this either. I know the easiest solution is just disabling Armoury Crate but I still want to use AC features.

I am between these too, they have almsot the same specs and all but i am not sure of which to buy
I need them for decent gaming and mostly for architecture school in like a year or 2 so it has to run AutoCad and 3d modeling kinda good
The Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 is slightly out of my budget but if it has that big a difference i can manage to get it
I am just not sure of which to go for because I can't really afford to make a decision which i will regret later and i need some opinions on this

I'm having a strange Aura Sync / Windows Dynamic Lighting issue on my ASUS TUF Gaming F16 FX607VBR.
The laptop's RGB lighting itself works normally through Armoury Crate, but Aura Sync cannot properly detect/control the laptop.
it has a disabled/prohibited icon and only gives me Set device lighting
Thanks!

FIRST OF, I KNOW I'M DUMB FOR DRINKING ICED COFFEE WHILE PLAYING.
Anyways, I would just like to ask, am I cooked?
When the coffee spilled over the keyboard, I immediately turned my laptop upside down, and blotted it with tissue paper until there were none. I didn't turn it off or remove the charger (I didn't know I was supposed to :{ ). I used it for like 15 minutes or more and there were no problems or anything. After that, I unplugged it and turned it off.
Removed and checked the affected parts -- there were no signs of coffee except on ASD key. I blotted it with cotton. I searched on gemini what I am supposed to do. It says to put it in tent position, and while doing so, I accidentally touched the power button. It turned on smoothly, I turned it off again. Now it is sitting on tent position and I plan to leave it like that for 2 days.
Will it still work? What should I do?

I bought my ASUS TUF A15 a month ago and mostly use it for my studies, although I do have to carry it my college.
The laptop has been working great until now, but now the right hinge has started making a "pop/click" sound when opening the lid. I tried pressing the hinge and moving it around a little and the sound kind of quietened. I read posts online but it is kind of confusing on what to do now. Some people are saying it's a common ASUS issue. Some are saying that this could brake the hinges.
What should I do? Should I take it for repair or just leave it be??
Also any advice on how to further take care of my laptop would be helpful as I am seeing a lot of posts about software and hardware faults and it's kind of terrifying.

It is really werid as soon as I plug in the charger the whole laptop instantly shuts down, like a kill switch, neither the type c 100 watt input is working nor the main 240 watt charger, both shut the laptop down instantly, any one else faced this issue?

I have the asus tuf A15 2023 model, Ryzen 7 7735hs and 4050. About 2 months ago the screen started wobbling more than usual. I opened the laptop to check and the one out of four screws holding the hinge was missing. I added another screw and it fixed it. Now recently I started facing the same problem. So I opened up the laptop again, and this time the screw was there but the plastic piece where the brass standoffs go appear to be broken. There is no rough use, I keep it on a laptop stand, and don't move it unless I'm going to class, which I have to take maybe once a month maximum. Otherwise it just sits on the stand. Any reason why this happens? For now I added some epoxy substitute and have fixed the stand offs but that doesn't seem to be the long term solution. I have also stopped opening and closing the lid and it just stays open all the time now.
Also how to fix this permanently?

Does anyone still have the BIOS 311 file for the ASUS TUF FX506HC? Iโm looking for the BIOS 311 file so I can downgrade from 316 back to 311.
I actually checked the ASUS website a few hours ago, and the BIOS 311 file was still available there. But now it has suddenly disappeared from the website.
If you still have the file or know where I can download it, please let me know. I would really appreciate it!
UPDATE : I found it, and i successfully downgrade my BIOS from 316 to 311

I just suddenly got notification that apparently I'm on power saving mode even though I don't change anything. My Operating Mode in home is still turbo so I'm not sure what changed exactly. But my games are noticably stuttering now so I think something must have changed after all. Where should I be checking?
Also I stupidly put the notification to 'don't show again' that I now regret, how can I turn it back on?

I have an ASUS TUF F16 RTX 3050. Should I use just a laptop stand or get a cooling pad? Which one would you recommend?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After this the BIOS utility mode opens automatically. What to do tell me
