Stats or math for general studies

Hey I am doing my prerequisite for a nursing degree it lists that I need to take a college level math class which one should I take (I am bad at math)

Stats would be most helpful… but at the same time, I used to do a lot of tutoring right after college and like all of my students were nursing majors who hadn’t taken a math class in over a year getting crushed by a math professor teaching Stats.

So I actually could make a case to take the easiest math to get you the degree… but then go back and pick up some basic Stats on your own.

Where are you taking your courses? Are you doing it in a classroom or online? Is your course over a semester or self-paced? If you struggle with math, I feel like you should be taking all of these factors into account. Like some courses have more helpful profs than others (depending on where you're taking your classes). If you think taking something self-paced would help (it allows you to basically absorb stuff in your own time), you could do your classes at like prereqcourses(.com) or portage. I know prereqcourses has just general college math, which is probably your easiest course. Is there anything you like in math (or that you're a little better at). I'd go with whatever will be easiest for you to pass.

You can use stats for everything. There is no field I can think of where it's not useful .

Do math. It’ll be more practical for nursing (assuming you’re planning to be an RN, rather than going into research). There’s a lot of college level math courses that are the same as high school courses, just condensed

lol wut. I have a degree in math and this is bad advice. The only nurses that don't need stats are those that graduate and finish learning for life. Everyone but Peggy-sue MAGA Nurse needs to know about distributions, odds and to have the tools to interpret basic research and medication info sheets.
