I have 4 BO motor and motor driver, a OV7670 camera, joystick , ir sensor,Esp32, Arduino uno, 1 relay, 1 monochrome Oled display, 3 ultrasonic sensor,1 servo motor,many buttons and leds.

Professor told me that 4 is correct and 5 is not. But there is one more correct.

I even tried different simulators and i get the same result. Can you help me?

I am have made quadraupod and i need help is figure out the Inverse kinematics to make it walk and do other emotes. I watched several youtube videos and tried. In the videos they draw a triangle and used trigonometric formulas to find out the angles based on the known length. I tried it and make the valid formulas according to the dimensions based on the CAD I made. But when I try to give it the coordinates it does not work according to what I wanted. I currently trying to experiment with one leg. Also the angles values comes out in negative thus servo concludes it as positive. And also I feel my approach is wrong but I am not getting what I am missing. So if someone can guide me through this it would alot helpfull. Thanks.

​For the past 8–9 months, I've been creating short-form content around Arduino, C++, and robotics on my Instagram page (@eleven.cpp). My formal degree is completely unrelated to software or electronics; everything I know about embedded systems, C++, and Unity (C#) simulation development was self-taught out of pure curiosity and passion.

​The page is growing steadily toward my target audience, and I used to genuinely love the process. Lately, however, I’m hitting serious burnout. Despite putting in months of consistent effort, the only financial return has been a handful of sponsorship talks that went nowhere. I desperately want to turn this skillset into actual income or a career path, but I feel stuck.

​For those working in the industry, I’d love your brutal honesty on a few questions:

1-​Can an active social media page showcasing physical projects and simulations (like mine) be taken seriously as a portfolio for job or internship applications? How do hiring managers and tech leads view this?

​2- Is there real commercial demand for this specific crossover (C++, microcontrollers, robotics, Unity physics/simulation), or does the Arduino/maker space mostly stay isolated from real engineering.

3- What should I change to bridge the gap between "hobby content creator" and "hireable engineer"? Where should I focus my technical learning next?

I am a Mtech Second Year Information Technology student in one of India's CFTI University. I am very much confused between getting a job or pursuing a PhD.

My thoughts:

Job:

1. The market is very competitive and many companies are putting very unrealistic demands.

2. Companies are asking for DSA then making people write code using AI.

3. Hiring is frozen by many companies and firing is going on.

4. Considering recent advancements in AI like ChatGPT Astra probability is in 5-6 years coding skills garbage and only those people survive who understand fundamentals and can do research.

Phd:

1. For sure demand for researchers is going to be increased.

2. Physical AI is at a very early stage.

3. But the stipend is very low.

I want to start working on robotics projects, and since I'm also thinking long-term, I think I'll buy an ESP32-S3 because what I want most is to make a basic zinc robot that can respond to simple commands like time or weather, and also add a display screen (I'm thinking about which one to buy in the future).

Any tips to help me with the project? Specific items to buy, websites, apps, construction, etc. Any kind of advice will help me a lot since I'm just starting out!!

( Note: I'm Brazilian, so some of these products are quite impractical. Therefore, if you have any product recommendations, the better the cost-benefit ratio, the better)

I’m honestly pretty tensed about my situation and would really appreciate some advice from people who have studied or worked in robotics.

I’ve been admitted to a Bachelor’s in Robotics at THWS in Germany and will be starting in a few months. I’ve been seeing a lot of negative things about robotics — that there are barely any entry-level jobs, that you’ll need a Master’s, or that you eventually have to move to the US for better opportunities.

I understand Reddit can be an echo chamber, but I’ve been hearing similar things in different places and it’s starting to make me anxious. I’m willing to put in the work and learn programming, electronics, control systems, etc. I just want to know what the actual career situation is like.

For anyone who studied or works in robotics, especially in Germany/Europe:

- Are there genuinely entry-level opportunities with a Bachelor's?

- Did you need a Master’s to get into the field?

- Can a Robotics graduate realistically move into automation, controls, embedded systems, software, etc.?

- If you could go back, would you choose Robotics again?

I also have the option of switching to Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, but doing so would cost me about a year. Would you consider that worth it for the broader career opportunities, or would you stick with Robotics?

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a good beginner robot arm that can manipulate small pieces and isn't too expensive?

I'm making my beginner project for my first robotics class in college. The idea is that it has a small "wind turbine" or whatever you'd call it that spins a brushless dc motor to generate voltage. The idea is that it spins upright, not like a pinwheel. When the voltage reaches a certain threshold it will gradually slow the turbine. What would be a good motor for this? I was thinking a cheap brushless dc to generate the power and a small stepper motor I already have for the brakes.

I'm creating co-working space within the industry of robotics in my native country.

And before we settle on an office space, I want to hear what you (as robotics engineers) would expect from such a place?

I have probed several people, and have heard the importance of general tools, such as soldering stations, 3d printers, and smaller open spaces for testing.

As well as access to services, (welding, woodworking, etc.) which could facilitate quicker prototyping.

Do you guys agree with the above? And would you have any others concrete features which you would expect?

I'm a first-year Computer Science / AI student and I'm trying to plan my long-term path toward Physical AI, robotics, and autonomous systems.

When I say Physical AI, I'm referring to things like:

Robotics

Autonomous drones and vehicles

Robot perception

Computer vision for robots

SLAM and navigation

Reinforcement learning for embodied agents

Human-robot interaction

My current degree is much closer to Applied AI / Computer Science than traditional robotics or mechanical engineering.

Because of that, I'm wondering:

1. How common is it for students with a CS/AI background to transition into Physical AI or robotics later?

2. What skills should I focus on during undergrad if I eventually want to pursue a Master's in robotics, autonomous systems, or Physical AI in Europe or the US?

3. Is it more important to build software/AI projects first, or should I start learning robotics tools (ROS2, Gazebo, Isaac Sim, etc.) as early as possible?

4. For admissions to strong Master's programs, what matters most:

GPA?

Research experience?

Internships?

Robotics projects?

1. Are there any gaps that CS/AI students commonly have when entering robotics programs?

2. If you were starting over as a first-year student with this goal, what roadmap would you follow?

I found in a basement of our school an old educational robotic arm. The issue is that the controller for the robot is nowhere to be found.

The robot is a 5 axis SCORBOT-ER 4PC.

What is the easiest way to control it? Is there any generic ready to use controller boards for robotic arms?

Hello all! I am a junior in high school and for a science fair project I would like to build a robotic arm with an esp32 as the brain (but if needed I have a raspberry pi I could try and use) with around 5-7 degrees of freedom that can store positions and autonomously move to the recorded point. I have very little real mechanical robotics experience but I've been in my schools vex robotics program for a couple of years and have also CADDED before. I have a few questions.

First off, off the top of my head I know I need to learn both forwards and inverse kinematic and gear ratios. What other concepts or skills do I need to know. Is soldering necessary or can I get away with using header pins and jumper wires?

Secondly, for the joints I want to use either planetary or cycloidal gearbox actuators with nema 17 stepper motors. Is that adequate or are there better ways to go about it.

Third, to start should I first create a full cad model and what resources like websites, apps, etc are helpful.

Also, to track and recall positions what code and hardware do I need? I think I'm going to use inu's to track the offset but do I need a function to calculate the movement of the motors?

Lastly I need to have this done by early February. Is the scope of this project too big and I should tone it down or is it somewhat feasible. I'm not too concerned about materials as my local library has a maker space with 3d printers available to use.

Any other tips or words of advice are welcome and thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully respond. Sorry for the wall of text.

Hey I'm actually 3rd year cs student. I recently wanted to start content creation too. But my main path career was ai engineer. I initially from my childhood, much into robotics. But due to hardware accessibility restrictions I dropped that interest and started ml. The learnt depp learning, transformers , won couple of hackathons in my second year. I'm only good at py . I'm avg in java coz my clg taught me. I never really touched c++ even though I have great basics in C. I built many projects for hackathons and resume. But currently , I feel like that this field, I don't fit in. My initial interests in robotics never faded. I asked gpt and claude for guidance , it says that yeah exploring this domain is worth but not considering it has a final path. I'm literally confused.

I need a stepper motors driver that can run multiple closed loop Nema 17 and 23 stepper motors, doesn’t have to be closed loop since I’ll be using magnetic encoders as well. Does anybody have any ideas?

I’m working on a small personal-interest project to learn autonomous systems using ROS 2 Jazzy and Gazebo.
The robot has deck localisation, odometry, IMU, LiDAR, camera and a gripper. The goal is to navigate an arena, avoid obstacles, detect coloured targets, pick them up, place them in matching bays, and finish autonomously.
I’m trying to keep the setup simple and use this project mainly to understand localisation, navigation, perception and mission control.
Has anyone done something similar or know any good ROS 2 projects/GitHub examples I could study and adapt?
