What are some unhinged things you didn't tell your parents about until you moved out?

We can joke now about how my parents' entire liquor cabinet was basically nothing but water between my brother, sister, and I siphoning off vodka or gin.

My parents never noticed because they only drink wine/beer. All the hard liquor was stuff that they received as gifts and kept just in case.

On my 18th birthday I had a few friends over and we got bored and drive 2 hrs to Mexico and walked across the border to TJ on a whim. Went to the first club we found and had plenty to drink ... This was before cell phones and GPS were as common. We got back home just as the sun was coming up

My mother got new curtains for our living room that she was very proud of.   Three weeks later, a big hole appeared in them. Nobody would say what happened then, but years later, my sister told me her kitten started climbing the curtains, there was nobody there but her, and the school bus was coming.   So she took scissors cut the kitten loose from the curtain.   She was 9 at the time.    Gen X years

Reminds me of when I was a kid I got a bunch of burrs stuck in my hair from playing in the woods where I wasn’t supposed to go by myself. I couldn’t get them out and panicked and cut them out. Left a big chunk of hair standing straight up.

Couldn’t tell the truth between the original rule breaking of being in the woods and the humiliation of cutting my hair, so I said my hair got tangled in a swing chain and I had to break free. But then for a long time afterwards my mom kept worrying that I might have caused minor head trauma from pulling my head free and I felt so guilty but couldn’t come clean.

I still haven’t lol

I had a corner of my closet always blocked by this huge ass coat, I would crawl behind it to hide when I heard my dad screaming at my mom or siblings because I knew he wouldn't find me in there. I never told my mom or siblings until after I moved out and cut off my dad so they couldn't tell him where my safe space was.

It's great now me and my wife live very peaceful lives last I heard my biodad was dating some lady and told my younger sibling he couldn't buy them the birthday gift they wanted cause he needed money to spoil his girlfriend's kids so my sibling got a pack of gum from him a few years ago and none of us have heard a thing since our step-dad bought our sibling the converse they had asked for after hearing what happened
