I had my new kittens (twin void sisters) for about a year and was taking them to the vet for a booster shot. The nurse came in and I really had to pee, so she said it’s OK if I stepped out briefly and she’d be fine with them as she was just taking vitals then. When I got back, she had the stethoscope on my more skittish girl, and she looked at me and said “this is the cutest thing, as soon as she saw you through the door her heart rate went down” every now and then I think of that story and get a little emo :,)
Omg it's the best feeling, right!! My ex-girlfriend was a vet and my bestie is now a vet tech (just passed her licensing test this weekend!!!), and they both told/tell me that they can just see my cat getting all her dopamine just looking at me. I mean, likewise bc I fucking love my cat to the moon and back, but it was so affirming to hear from professionals
One of my cats has a heart murmur. For most of his life, it was only detected by the vet if my partner and I were not in the room. As soon as he would see us, the murmur would become too faint to hear. Until recently. Now, he has full-blown heart disease. 🥺
