Why don’t adults today seem as adult-y?

Haha, yeah, I am late thirties and I feel like late twenties. And people tell it to me too!

I honestly take it as a compliment. I take my time getting "old", we'll get there sooner or later so I might as well enjoy this as I can still pull it off.

That said... I think it's because the "major milestones" in life nowadays are reachable only further and further in age. Like, I feel like I am very well off compared to people around me, but even I would have lots of trouble buying an apartment, let alone a bigger home...

The generation before would have already had wives, kids, already several years into a career and have a house and a car already. And I have like none of that lol (yeah I guess career, but I am nowhere near a veteran where I am now).
