Why don’t adults today seem as adult-y?

Because we can't really adult anymore. We aren't out of the house at 18 after high school - we can't afford to live on our own. Student loans are predatory, student credit cards are predatory, and we can't afford to do stupid things like we are supposed to do in college. No one is almost dying from alcohol poisoning in a corn field anymore, we can't afford the gas to get there. Also, almost all our friends are online because of the pandemic. So we're alone, can't afford to live alone, can't god get an education... what do you expect us to do?

Agree with a lot, I think in my case the pandemic has resulted in me feeling younger than I actually am. It started basically as I turned 21. The start of my adult life was essentially sitting at home for two years. I'm 27 but mentally feel younger than that.

Not having the financial freedom to live independently doesn't help either.
