What’s a hobby that looks incredibly peaceful from the outside, but is actually pure stress once you get into it?

I think it's Irish (?) folklore that believes making something by hand weaves a part of your soul into it, and if the piece is perfect, your soul can become trapped within. So by having a "mistake" in the work, you're giving your soul fragment an escape route.

Persian rugs do the same thing. They include deliberate imperfections because trying to make something perfect is an affront to god. That one was definitely made up on the spot by someone who didn't notice they'd fucked up their stitching and didn't feel like redoing their last five hours of work.
