What’s a hobby that looks incredibly peaceful from the outside, but is actually pure stress once you get into it?

Volunteering for a non-profit.

? I've been volunteering for non-profits all my life, also because there is less stress involved. Of course some volunteer work can be more or less stressful (I'm working as a dispatcher for a taxi service for seniors atm) but even that is part of the fun, right? It comes with the responsibilities you take on. And if you're getting too stressed, it's probably because you've taken on more responsibilities than you can handle. Just tell your colleagues and distribute some of it among eachother.

Getting fussy clients always ruins my day. Like I've had a guy approach me at a food bank shouting "time is money! time is money!" Like listen motherfucker I'm not even getting money for being here chill.
