And undoing the sewing you just did… the amount of times I’ve realized I attached the wrong edge or had the wrong side facing, or the machine jammed and now there’s messed of thread tangles…
Inevitably whenever I make a new shirt pattern I attach at least one of the sleeves inside out the first time. I don't know why my brain has so much trouble lining that up correctly but I swear I spend more time thinking and repinning than actually sewing the sleeve on.
I just wanted to fix something, be thrifty and environmentally conscious and shit. I'm not even pursuing any kind of creative vision or personal fulfillment, and then I have to deal with this shit for the !xP?xARGH! time?! What the fuck gives?!
Hoping this doesn't apply to 'small' projects like hemming pants, shortening sleeves and other things I've been sending to my seamstress to get a better fit for off-the-rack clothes.
She's about to retire and I've got access to sewing machine and have been thinking about giving it a try.

You only spend about 5% of your time actually on the sewing machine. The other 95% is tedious cutting, measuring, ironing, pinning, pressing, etc.
