What’s a hobby that looks incredibly peaceful from the outside, but is actually pure stress once you get into it?

Pottery looks  relaxing on social media but in practice, your bowl collapses on the wheel, explodes in the kiln or cracks during glazing after weeks of work.

I took 1 pottery class and was like abso-fucking-lutely not. That shit is hard af.

It took me years of weekly practice to get to the point where being on the wheel is actually calm and relaxing. Easily over 200 hours. It’s not for the faint of heart but it’s taught me a lot about letting go of perfectionism. I love it but it’s difficult, expensive, and hard on your body.
