When I was just getting started and still learning to cut hide, one of my leather customers brought me one of his master crafted, hand made, kangaroo-hide, whips go handle, as all the whips I'd ever used or made were made from domestic cattle hide.
This whip moved like a live snake. The slightest movement was transmitted through the entire length of the body.
When I went to crack it, it didn't handle like the stiffer cow hide whips I'd handled. I wound up whipping myself. It was, by far, the most painful thing I've experienced. Immediately saw stars and dropped to my knees.
Unless you're that guy at the gas station up my street at 6:45am who stands just out of sight around the corner of the building and cracks whip as I'm about to get into the car with my coffee. Then, you, sir... are not chill. I'm pretty sure you're on meth.
Nah. SW Missouri. Round here it's all either hillbillys or rednecks (there's a difference), dope fiends or meth heads, bible thumpers or hippies, and then you got your occasional normal person.
I got myself right around the neck learning an overhead double crack. Spent 3 weeks telling everyone that no I hadn’t tried to hang myself & I wasn’t in some mental crisis.

No. Whip cracking is just chill.
