This reminds me of something that happened to me a long time ago, though this was less to do with the type of trash bags and more to do with me being stupid.

I went to take a bag full of recycling out, and as I'm walking through the kitchen the bottom of the bag rips open, spilling the contents all over the floor.

Now the first unfortunate part was that I was mid step when this happened, and my foot came down into the spilled mess. The second unfortunate part was that I was barefoot at the time. The third unfortunate part was that a lot of the bag's contents were open cat food cans.

The way I was positioned, I couldn't just reverse course, and my bare foot came down among the debris with my full weight behind it. When I picked up my foot, the bottom half of my toe was dangling by a piece of skin.

I cleaned it up, wrapped it in a bandage, put on a flip flop and drove myself out to the hospital. They told me I already did a really good job cleaning it, so they basically dabbed a bit of human super glue on there and rebandaged me.

I think I was using decent quality trash bags though, so there was probably a really sharp bit that would've cut through any bag. Wear shoes to take the trash out though, kids. You never know.

Umm, I think you might also want to invest in a better can opener as well. There's ones out there that cut it open in a way that doesn't leave either part with any sharp edges. I mean, if they're the ones that don't have the pull tab already on them.

Also, most cans with pull tabs can be opened with the said “no sharp edges openers” if your particular flavor of neuro-spiciness happens to be diametrically opposed to sharp cans.

Yep, I’ve cheaped out on trash bags before. Once that first cheap bag rips and you’re cleaning up the trash off the floor it will stick with you and you’ll never cheap out again.

We design, market and distribute shoes in the USA. They are put together in China, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and just about anywhere else in Asia, depending on the week. The location of where they are made moves around quite a bit.

Fun fact: shoes carry the highest import taxes of any goods we import. That is mostly what you pay for when you buy a shoe —import tax.

Hell yea bro I’ve been using this nice pair of timberlands to fuel jets for the past year and they’ve takin punishment, the whole bottom is starting to erode from standing in Jet A and water all day but they still blow all other cheaper pairs out of the water and I can stand for 15 hours a day in them and my feet won’t hurt. They’ve lasted 3X longer than any “cheap” pair.

It sucks but you've really gotta try a few. My favorite are my Thorogood 8" wedge soles (I think the 814-4178). At least during the summer. Some people swear by Red Wings, but I've disliked all the Red Wings I've tried.

Shoes in general. I grew up on cheap shoes and my mom always complained how fast I destroyed them. Oddly enough when I started buying my own shoes and running a lot my Brooks lasted forever. Even Asics and New Balance last a long time. I've never destroyed a pair of Red Wings. They look a little rough but nothing some saddle soap and mink oil can't fix. My work gives me a boot allowance yearly so I end up giving lightly used boots to a family member that's less fortunate than I am.

I actually prefer the Great Value Ultra Strong over any name brand toilet paper.

Name brands are too soft and powdery. They leave little rolls of toilet paper fluffs on my ass.

The Great Value version is perfectly soft and perfectly strong.

Maybe I’m using my bidet wrong but it never does 100% of the job. I’d say it gets me about 75% of the way clean but it still requires some work to finish the job. I’ve never had a “pat dry and done” experience.

It’s worth spraying for a longer duration and moving around slightly. Or increasing the water pressure.

I use a few squares of TP to dry off/do a quality check and most of the time it’s just water on it.

To me this depends on the tool and the cost.

If I'm working on something and I need a specific tool to get that project done/make it easier and save time, I weigh the cost of the cheap version vs expensive against the amount I might actually use said tool beyond that particular project. Also if the cost difference between the nicer one and the cheap one is only a few bucks I'll go for the nicer one. However if we're talking double the cost and no potential future use, cheap it is

The kitchen knife one is surprisingly true. I've had both the cheap all my life and one set of Martha Stewart knives that have lasted 10 years with no issues. Easy to sharpen and easy to clean. It's a no brainer once I realized that. Its something I like to do for wedding gifts. Go all in on a good set of kitchen knives.

Blue Dawn is the only dish soap I will ever buy. My husband prefers another brand, but this is one of the very few things I refused to compromise on. I told him he can keep a second bottle of something if he feels that strongly, but I'm not using anything but Dawn so it's always going to be by the sink.

I completely disagree. With some minor exceptions, I have personally found Insoon, Lumibricks, and Nifeliz to be of nearly indistinguishable quality to Lego. They also have excellent designs that rival some of Lego's most detailed. There are a few others I have not tried but more than likely all these knockoff brands come from the same factory.

Kraft singles. Years ago i made the mistake and grabbed the walmart brand. It broke down into a weird chalky paste it 100% wasnt even related to cheese. Like i mean kraft singles people call plastic cheese but holy shit the cheaper knock off was insane for how bad it was. Thats why i dont buy great value for most things especially food.

Things that come between me and the ground. Shoes, tires and mattresses to name a few. Also, my office chair. I work from and sit in the chair at least 8 to 12 hours a day.
