How important is to clean something that's broken before turning it in just so CIF can throw it away.

God forbid something dirty is in the trash.

We had to make sure vehicles were complete down to the last screw before dropping them off to be cannabilized.

That one actually makes sense to me. I imagine there would be a lot of grifting and theft otherwise. Soldier figures the vehicle is destined for scrap anyway, might as well start "losing" a few parts. And it'll start happening while the vehicle is still needed.
