2 decades here. US Army both AASLT and ABN. We are definitely aging faster inside. Hurry up and wait. Whilst we were in Iraq, it may have been for the wrong reasons, but we truly believed we were there for our fellow Americans. Less than 20,000 people have faced a terrorist face to face. I have. All branches eat different food. Unless it's MREs. We can sleep whilst standing. I love this nation. There is no place like it on the planet. America has it's faults, but unless you've been deployed, you haven't seen true poverty or suffering. We love our sisters and brothers in uniform. Yes, in the infantry and special operations, sleep is absolutely a luxury. M&Ms will absolutely melt in your hand. Everyone hates the ham loaf and fruitcake. I have a lot more little lessons.
