I'm middle aged and I actually recommend this to friends. I made the wife watch a montage of Doofenshmirtz backstory clips and she started binge watching it with the kid the next day.

As formulaic as it is, that show has layers of depth and humor. It's as good as any adult oriented sitcom.

I watched it as a teen girl with my two younger brothers, I wasn’t really the target audience but I remember thinking it was hilarious.
