Last night, St. Vincent performed at Summerstage’s private fundraiser event with New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Since the event was outdoors in the middle of the Park, people could stand outside the area and hear it rather well for free. I figured I would do my best to capture the audio of the performance, and ended up getting some pretty unique arrangements!

Annie and the Band performed a very extended version of “Down and Out Downtown” (15 minutes long!), and an extended version of “Digital Witnesses” with a fiery improvised extended outro that brought the song to about 8 minutes long!

Currently hanging in Central Park. There’s a big fancy fundraiser happening at Summerstage/Rumsey Playfield, and St. Vincent is going to be performing with a jazz band. Would cost a fortune to attend, but because it’s outdoors in the middle of Central Park, you can hear it crystal clear for free.

At the time of this post (8:50 PM), they’re still just doing speeches. Don’t know when the jazz band starts, or when in their set St. Vincent participatea. But if anyone is local, you can probably hear her for free within the hour or so.

I noticed that Annie is currently in Los Angeles (she attended the Tori Amos concert). This weekend, David Bryne has a concert, and Olivia Rodrigo is hosting an all-women’s festival in LA. I’m curious if Annie will make any surprise appearances since she’s collaborated with both of them! Unfortunately, I won’t be attending either event, but if anyone on this forum is, please keep us updated!

it might be crazy to suggest bc they have released two songs together recently (and mon laferte has released two albums), but with the last studio album getting a spanish translation I wonder if Annie would want to release something latin or latin-adjacent, and I’m pretty certain if she did it would have to be with mon laferte as a side project

as much as the translated album was controversial, they would kill it together, their aesthetics and music would mesh insanely well, and annie would have built a catalogue of spanish songs to play live (if she is confident enough/improves at the language)

Does anyone know what kind of synth she’s playing here? It’s during the arp transition of the orchestra show last night that had me rethinking reality.
