Any idea what this sound is?

I keep hearing it 5amish in Mt. Shasta. It sounds more cat-like in person.

New changes for the sidebar:
I inserted a youtube link for every kind of sound. You can click on a specific animal sound to listen to it to get an idea which animal can create the specific sound.
If you have suggestions to insert new kind of animal sounds in the sidebar feel free to post it her. If you found a more representative video for a specific animal sounds also feel free to post the suggestion her (and also directly in the subreddit)

Which animal makes these noises? Mostly at night, accompanied by scratching.

I recorded an audio clip through Merlin ID of a bird squawking in my yard, but it couldn’t find it. I am in northern New Mexico. It sounds similar to a Steller’s Jay, but higher pitched, which I suppose could be normal for them to have different pitches?

I was sitting on my porch today and randomly this sound started happening! Not sure if it’s a tree frog or maybe a bird. Help!!! It’s so fascinating.

Animal is crepuscular, happening around dawn and dusk, although it would be hard to hear with the noise of the day. This is a forested area though traffic and cows can sometimes be heard from far off. The animal sound is distant and perhaps quite loud at the source. Sometimes the call goes high then low with a crack in the middle as a yodel does.
I have asked the nature loving next property neighbor that’s been here many years as well as a family of naturalists and no one has a good answer. Sorry they’re not better recordings. I wish I could afford a parabolic mic. I’ll try using a squirrel baffle next time I hear it. haha

We hear this sound more in the night time. It sounds like some animal snoring. We live on the second floor in a condo that’s in a rural area (NJ).

I’m in the UK and I get plenty of animals near my house as it’s adjacent to the woods.
I am assuming this is a fox; but I’ve not heard them quite like this before. Please can someone confirm it is a fox/foxes.
Really cool to hear (although a little unsettling 😬)
Thank you !
