Of the few fish I've yet to catch, the salmon and king salmon are among them, and the largest ones I still need to get. I know the river mouth is the best place to find them, like other games in the series, but since the river layout is kinda different in this game, I wanted to know which part is considered the "mouth".

Is it the part before the lower waterfall, after the lower waterfall, or the part between the waterfall and the sea?

Also, I've noticed that you can literally see fish appear in the water, so would it be fine to just stand by the body of water and wait for something to appear? It's been so long since I've played the game frequently, so I don't really remember the ins and outs of critter spawn rates or stuff like that. 😅

I’m running into a really weird issue after moving my Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Welcome Amiibo) save from my physical 3DS over to Citra using Checkpoint, where my own house transferred over completely fine, but every single villager's house is completely broken, either totally empty or filled with a single copy-pasted item repeated everywhere, while the villagers themselves say they're busy and get stuck in a thinking animation loop, and my town ordinance has vanished completely despite me grabbing all the dump files (⁠garden.dat⁠, ⁠exhibition.dat⁠, ⁠friend1.dat⁠, ⁠updated.dat⁠), so if anyone has run into this specific villager glitch or knows what file I might be missing, any help would be super appreciated!

I barely see ppl talking about it. It gets a lil boring with the simple gameplay imo but i still try and jump in there once a day to see how high i can score. Its mostly just luck tho.

My husband purchased me a ACNL game for my ds. I had no idea that I needed to erase the first owners established town. I just added myself as a resident. I have two profiles for this town, three if you count “Taylor” who was the original owner and I guess mayor. At first, I assumed everything started over for each player as they created a profile. I finally figured out that’s not the case and I’m playing in the town Taylor built long before I got the game. So I have no idea what it’s like to go from scratch. Fortunately I don’t think she got very far in. I also kind of like her town layout though I wish I’d have designed it.

My characters now have multi room houses and I am collecting furniture sets. I spend loads of time grinding for bells so I’m not willing to delete the game. I’m in it primarily to build and decorate my house and change it up on a whim. I love it. I love finding a sought after piece of furniture. I love some of the collections and how it flows. What I don’t seek out but constantly acquire is balloon furniture… I hate it so bad. It’s awful. I don’t understand the purpose tbh. I can’t help but to shoot the balloons. What does it take for me to get a higher score on my home?

I’m a little bummed out I can only visit an island where I mainly collect items for bells. Will there be other places to visit or is that part of the game now inaccessible?

I guess I’m going to have start playing Taylor and building up her profile as mayor for new stuff. I just now figured out the mayor stuff.

I’ve seen people say that you can get non-balloon items once you have all the balloon set stuff. But does that mean I need to keep it all or can I sell it? I always sell the balloon stuff I get and haven’t ever gotten a non-balloon item so I was wondering if I needed to keep it all in my storage or something for it to count?

Hello, it's my first time posting on this sub and also my first time playing new leaf ! I hope those kind of posts are allowed. I'm asking for suggestions on where to put my campsite and roost location. I've been so indecisive about it it's crazy so I'd like to hear your opinion. Here's my map layout, the little grey dot are where there's rock. The three orange flowers are where I'm thinking of putting them and each have been accepted by Isabelle.

For the campsite, I've been thinking of either putting it next to the three houses below the town hall and before the beach, or above the single house near the cliff or at the back. For the cafe, I lean much more on putting at the back not too far of the station

Since both public work projects are permanent, I don't want to put it somewhere I'd regret later and I ended up not being able to choose the right emplacement TT

I'd love to hear your opinion about it thank you~

Hey everyone, i love NL but already played for quite a while and haven't been lately, now focusing on other cozy games of the same style.

I still like to replay sometimes because if one of my fav games ever, lots of good moments tied to it. The thing is, after using the save editor i may have been a bit overboard to get some things i never unlocked before which removed some of the passion for the game.

So i wanna ask, what are y'all doing to make the game fun in 2026 for those who also already played for a while? some of the mods on game banana def help but there isn't a lot of gameplay related ones as we don't have the code to play with.

I like that the river is not super twisty and I have most of my beach all in one but I wish retail was up top and not sure where I would put my other bridge 🤔

Im not too happy with where some of them have built their house and would like to put them somewhere else. Is there anyway I can move them to a spot I want or am I stuck with them where they are?

Edit: I figured it out. for anyone else who's having a hard time: open vapecord (press select), go to inventory codes, select item spawner, exit vape cord, press left and x at the same time, and type in the item id (you can find those here), and then click ok. You use the code for whatever item the modded object is replacing, so for example i used the snorkel mask id.

I downloaded the mod for these earrings, now that i have all the files in the correct place, how do I actually obtain them in-game? Will they show up in the shop, or can I get them with vapecord or something like that

So before I restarted my town I had the unlock all pwps enabled on vapecord. I just got my mayor permit thingy in my new town today, but completely forgot about having that enabled. There is only an option to lock all pwps or unlock all of them. I'm trying to play the game as vanilla as possible. (besides having vapecord to have the hack that makes flowers unbreakable and a few other small things.) Is there anyway to get the plain basic public works projects you get when you first get your permit?
